Personally, while all of the HLs have good aspects, nothing, in my opinion beats the original. It has a great plotline, good characters, a clear definition of good and evil. The Second movie, was okay, had a few good scenes, but overall, it didn't fit with the first one, and neither did the third one. the Fourth one was okay, but only because Methos was in it. I watched the series, not for Duncan MacLeod but for Methos, and was disappointed when they cancelled it. so overall, the first movie was the best, in my opinion.

aye - the original is the best ---

and yes - the others have good and bad points, but the thing w/ sequels is ya gotta pay attn to the canon of the previous films or they just don't work!!!!

You might as well be talking about cannon or Canaan for as much as HL writers and TPTB know how to keep up canon.

oh - i know --- i just always bitch about canon - or the lack thereof -- like the writers think the fans won't notice --

you'd figure, after alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll these years - they'd finally realize that they need to pay attention to stuff like that ---- the fans get more annoyed at bad canon than at terrible stories ---- (not me - they both have to fit, or it sucks, but i'm picky) --- canon is very important --- and it really doesn't take that much to keep canon straight --- two people could handle the research responsibilities regarding canon for one regular tv program (something like Law & Order would take more ppl b/c there are sooooooo many eps) --- heck -- one person could do it -- do you know how many websites are out there that outline the information we bitch about the PTB and writers screwing up??? ack!!!!

all these guys have to do is check the internet!!! DUH!

and they could check when they go home like everyone else ---


it's not THAT hard ---- ugh --- canon -- we're gonna have to write up the 10 commandments of screenwriting for a tv series and adjoining movies ---

1st -- Thou shalt NOT write any character out of character for any reason whatsoever

2nd -- Thou shalt check all available canon to be sure your script is correct on all counts and there is NOTHING the fans will catch that you screwed up!

next.......

4th: thou shalt remember the history given to every character and not alter it to fit the current storyline - rewrite the storyline!

yes - we need to hand off our commandments to the PTB, not just of Highlander, but everyone else as well -- lots of shows 'fudge' or ignore the canon to make stuff fit -- stupid them --
