Ok.

How come all the off world gates look all dirty and like there made of stone, and earths is really shiny and looks like it is some type of metal

I always though the Gates' were partly stone, partly metal. Well, that's what they look like to me. And with naqadah, we know it's mostly metal anyway. The Earth Gate is underground, but inside. It's used frequently. There's nothing to say, especially with Goa'uld intervention, that other Gates would be used that much by native inhabitants. Lots of the other Gates are outside, exposed to the weather, they might as well look older or be dirtier.

Maybe is because is inside, I think mostly the other planets gates are outside.

maybe it's because the US Army requires neatness on everythging. You know Quarter perfect beds. And A clean Stargate Command is a Happy Stargate Command.

Surley army's of all countries require neatness. I'd call it a military thing. Besides, the Stargate looks a whole lot more impressive not covered in dirt and whatever.
Krystal, I think you're right too. Certainly they tend to be, although there are exceptions.

The earth stargate is the only one with an iris, maybe it help to maintain it clean.
