Directed by Joseph Ruben.

Writing credits David Loughery (story).

Alex Gardner has a psychic ability. He can enter peoples dreams while they are sleeping.
A government funded project is using such psychics to enter people's dreams, with some mechanical help. When a subject dies in his sleep from a heart attack Alex Gardner becomes suspicious that another of the psychics is killing people by manipulating their dreams. The President of the United States has nightmares about nuclear war, and a conspiracy is the true reason behind the research.

Well I liked this unusual film too. It had good special effects and I can't understand why there was no sequel.

what about the recent film called The Cell with jennifer lopez...that had good speacial effects and had a good plot...ok so not exactly a dream but it was peoples thought in a sorta real way u no so like u fink of a tree...there's a tree!!!

dunno if u seen it dave just fought i'd mention the film cos u reminded me of it...

This film was very unusual. We don't get to see it repeated on British TV..unfortunately. The dream sequences were good. Dennis Quaid played the "maverick" brilliantly.. It would be dreadful if some tallented people were capable of invading our dreams.. If we don't get sleep --we "go to pieces".
Good film and original--at that time.
