ive heard from numerous sources (like sphinx stargate) that in the most recent dvd and vhs releases of the sg-1 series, there will be some sort of token, once you get a certain amount of tokens u can trade it in for a prize:
3 tokens=one signed sg-1 poster
6 tokens=two signed sg-1 posters
7 tokens=both signed posters and you're entered in a draw which gives you the chance to fly to canada to see season 5 being filmed

ive bought the MOST recent vhs at the moment, actually, ive got ALL the recent releases (season 3) but there wasnt a token in any of them
im in the UK, i dont know if this is the reason or not, but is anyone else having the same problem?

I think the VHS tapes it means is series two tapes.

The tokens that you are on about seem to be in the series two tapes as like you I have been collecting season 3 but also season 2 at the same time and I have a few of these tokens but they are not in all the of the tapes in season 2 just some of them.

Think I will have to control myself, coz I wanna buy the DVD's, oh, but then I need a DVD player..urmmm...anyway, I bet the posters are just reproduced autograph posters..you know, not the type were the ink is still wet kind. You can prob pick those up on the net anyway...as to Canada....guess I will have to wait till next year...

Yes the tokens mentioned on my site are for Season 2 DVD's - apologies if this wasn't clear. There is supposed to be telecard tokens in the Season 3 DVD's (in the UK) but they only appeared in DVD 8 (Season 3 first DVD). I've emailed MGM/UA and haven't had any responses yet - I guess the merchandise company they signed with has either gone the "free today gone tomorrow" path or they've forgot to get the tokens/cards shipped with the DVD's (like they did with the third Season 2 DVD).

Either way there was nothing in either DVD 9 or DVD 10 that I recently bought from HMV.

MGM - Get it together please !

Oh whilst we're on the subject of DVD's - why on earth did they wait to release Season 1 on DVD - It makes ya kinda sick when you have the entire season 1 on VHS don't it

btw - If you haven't got a DVD Player- get one asap - it's the best thing since CD Players.

i was really annoyed when i fund out they were releasing season 1 DVD's

i went out to get all the season 1 eps on tape, then the next day, guess what, they released the DVD boxset!!!

Mate, I would take them back and exchange them......

I will get a DVD player........they are great...but I have to decide what country I plan to live in first!!

the reason why u may not have got a token is because they are in season 2 not season 3 (vhs boxes), i sent mine off and i now have 2 wonderful posters on my wall and door, all though i must warn you that the envelope must be clear as Hannah (as in CazenHANNAH) sent hers off be4 me and still has not recieved them but i think there is aclosing date and it ended on jan 31st, so sorry guys, by the way incase u were wondering i didn't win the trip and was devastated about it!!!!!!

Hi Guys and Gals. Just found this thread.

I'm collecting the SG1 DVD's. With the 3rd season ones I have had the id tags. Did have trouble with Vol 8, but fortunately found someone who managed to locate one with an id tag inside.

I am also trying to find out when the SG1 season 1 box set is being released over here in the UK. Can anyone help?

If you have trouble locating DVD's try this website. Have found them to be very helpful
