Now I don't want to get off on a rant here but...

****SPOILER WARNING!!!SPOILER WARNING!!!****

I have noticed a recurring theme in some of the posts about this seasons episodes. Many people are noticing the "darker" storylines. I thought maybe we could have a thread to discuss the overall "mood" of the show and how it is developing.

PLEASE use spoiler warnings when posting here since some people who visit might not have seen the season so far.

I personally have noticed a lot more "edgier" themes to the stories this season as opposed to the first and somewhat the second. I think this is great!!! After a couple of years shows tend to get a little stale and need something to spice 'em up a bit. I don't think Farscape has ever been stale but it is nice to see the "powers that be" shaking things up a bit. Especially with the significant body count. By significant I am of course refering to the main cast.

Also the characters are starting to show their true natures again. Some of which we haven't seen 'til now. D'Argo is showing a soft, sentimental side that until this season I didn't know he had. Except when it came to Jothee. Also, Rygel is starting to show what a selfish little s**t he can be. And Crichton is beginning to get back some of the scientist from before his little "3 hour tour" to the unknown regions. I think the reason we are seeing these drastic changes is that the crew is finally past the "we escaped the Peacekeepers and have to stay as far ahead of them as possible" phase and the panic from the first episode has shifted to a longing to get back where they came from.

Anywho...I have rambled long enough. Let me know what you think...

And remember...play nice...

What I think

#Spoilers GO AWAY IF U DON'T WANT TO READ#

U know I totaly hear were u are coming from. In a way, I like it more this way then anything. U have more action, and it's closer in what we go though. Yah sure we don't have that problem of being lost in space, not to sure where u are. But u still when u are growing up have that feeling of being lonley and nobody to talk to. Thatz why I like think I like the season more and more as we go along. Cause the more, the more we go into the depth the more we learn more about them. I think D'argo didn't want to be a warrior, I think he was more forced into it. I think he just wanted to be a famer with a peaceful life, cause he has shown that more then once. I love how John is becoming more his old self, which is great. "It just keeps getting better and better!" (Well if this didnt make sence, trust me your not messing nothing)

Cheerio

I think it would be good to see a few episodes where they get a break from the bad guys. That way we might get to see more developments with the characters. Think about it John needs a break, they all need a break.:(

Yes, definitely this season is more darker than the others. As you have mention is interesting because we don't know what will happen and also is a bit frustrating with all the possibly death people in the crew. :( But it make all the series more interesting.

Krystal :D

In regards to D'argo, I think he is a lot like the Roman warriors. Being a soldier is part of who they are but they also have really strong ties to their homes and families. They mainly just want to finish the war so they can go home to their "real" lives. At least until the next war.

As far as the season goes, I REALLY like the direction they are heading. There is so much potential for character development. And we've seen a lot already. I think the non-stop action so far is great but should die (no pun intended) down a bit so we can really explore how recent events have affected everyone. Plus, if they stop fighting long enough, we might finally see Aeryn and John "hook up". WOOHOO!!!:rolly2: :rolly2: :rolly2:

Plus we haven't seen much of Crais and Talyn yet and with Moya in such bad shape you just know they aren't too far away...

Yes, they all need a break. But that is just the way life is that you don't often get a break unless you make one. Which is kind of hard for them to do in their present situation. Without a break comes burnout.

I wonder if that is what is happening to poor old Stark?

Ah well, I really want to see Crais again and find out a bit more of what they where hinting at near the end of season two. Just what did they want to tell Aeryn anyway?
