Is anyone else out there enjoying the repeats of The Next Generation being shown on Sky One?

The early episodes do make me laugh, not with the storylines but with the makeup of Worf and Troy.

I do like the next gen. I try to watch whenever the kids let me.

 Annette, is there no end to your repetoire. LOL.
Yeah the repeats are great and yes, Worf must have been soooo p****d off. Season two is a dramatic improvement though. I just hope they repeat them too.

Fox:D

What are you trying to say? That I am a sci-fi nut, well yes I am. Mad on quite a few things sci-fi. Have even got the Trekkie pictures to prove it.

Well, I'm in the U.S. so I don't get Sky One, but as far as ST: TNG season one...how about the uniform they made Troi wear?

Yeah I know. It was disgusting. How she wore that I'll never know. I know they probably got paid well but someone didn't have any fashion sense at all when they designed the uniforms.

Yep

I attended a convention in Valley Forge last month and Marina Siritus was one of the guests, the comments she made about the early Troi costumes had us laughing.:rolly2: :rolly2:

For instance she told us about the first purple all in one suit they made for her was too small and the zip in the back broke during filming so for the entire time during the rest of the episode filming she had to wear two giant safety pins and tape in the back to keep her clothes on, of course this pulled it very tight across her bust line.
So she wasnt trying to show her bust she was in fact held together with pins and tape...LMAO thats also why she wasn't filmed from the back either they had to be extremely careful on camera angles.

She also mentioned that just one of those lycra/spandex all in one suits costs over $3000 and the actors were constantly being told by the producers to be careful between takes :laugh2:

LOL

Thanks for that bit, stripe...LMAO...love hearing those 'behind-the-scenes' type of things.

Kind of surprised at the cost of one those outfits, though!

Remember the very first TNG eps where they made Deanna wear those little skirts almost exactly like the ones on TOS?

P.S.

Could you imagine Janeway having to traipse through VOY, or making first contact with an alien species in one one those micro-minis?

Though I think 7 of 9 wore THE most revealing outfit in the ST universe!!

As they tell us women----you've come a long way, baby! (er...or not!)

LOL

lol

Janeway in a skirt ....lmao ....the producers learned a lot of what does and doesnt work in those early eps of TNG and Im glad the Troi skirt was one of the first to go.

Marina hated it ...lol but I think the purple jumpsuit was worse.
You would really be surprised when you see some of these actors in real life they are so slim and tiny.

Gates Mcfadden (Doc crusher) is incredibly thin I was shocked, even John De Lancie ('Q') was on the slim side and yet they all look so tall and big on the screen I guess the camera really adds 10 lbs ..... thank gods Im not on TV !!!<BG>

I'm enjoying the repeats of TNG S1 on Sky One... I think these old episodes are really great, if a little cheesy... the on-screen presence of the cast is great.. Picard especially

i have been watching he episodes.. great to see the old team back on tv

I prefer the repeats of TNG rather than the repeats of DS9. Don't mind voyager either.

great to see picard and the crew back on tv.... miss the old crew and there games

I've only caught one or two, but I was suprised at how good they still are. I think we might feel the same way about DS9 in time, but I'm not sure about Voyager.

i am hooked all over again.... i hope they do release them all on dvd some.. as my videos are starting to be a little worn...

yeah i hadn't watched most of the early TNG series before so i am glad that sky 1 repeated them but does anyone think it's going a little overboard now. I think this is like the third time they're being repeated, continously!!

It's more times than that Maria8475, they were repeating them for the third time before BBC had shown them once. I knew a lot of people who first got Sky, me included, just to watch TNG.

They do show it a lot, that's true, they have shown 'Quantum Leap', and 'DS9' in the same time slot, but always return to TNG; they must get good viewing figures for it, or else they would stop.
