Daniel's eyes

Why does Daniel still need his glasses after the amount of times he's used a sarcopagus? In the novel of the movie after Daniel uses the sarcophagus he can see perfectly. Just wondered.

but he does have beautiful eyes, and he does look kinda cute with his glasses on...peachy
