All Right B5 fans. Who is your favorite alien race on B5?
Give a reason as well.

Awwww you can only vote once.

It was a toss up between the Minbari and the Vorlons.

I like the minbari. They are a very spiritual race and I kinda connect with that.

The vorlons are just.... interesting. At least the first Kosh was interesting. :D

I also found it a toss up between the Vorlons and the Minbari.

I went for the Vorlons, a mysterious and powerful race whose secrets we still don't know. Makes you keep wondering if there will be more things that relate back to the Vorlons than we know.

Though I admit I liked Kosh 1 better than Kosh 2 who was definetly a darker character  .

Vorlons

I chose the Vorlons too simply because they are one of the most misunderstood of all the races, after 5 years we still dont know as much about them as we do all the other races.

They are intriguing and I wouldve loved to have seen their homeworld but thats all part of the JMS magic which I have come to respect and love.

;)

Rangers don't count as aliens.

But they're my favorite group of all. :D

I like the Shadows because Chaos is one of the main elements in human evolution.....Plus I love the screams their ships make.;)

The Shadows are such a delicious group of bad guys, of course one can argue that the Vorlons weren't all that good either except for maybe Kosh 1.

Pure order V's Pure chaos...Both eventiate into the same thing.....And "suposedly" humankind were the closest to the middle path..
Ok lets look at just a few.
Mimbari....Definatly leaning towards pure order.
Drazi...Definatly towards chaos.
Centauri.....If it wasnt for Londo...I wonder...A strictly ordered society striving for chaos.....Truly an enigma.
Shall I continue??

Continue if you wish.
The middle path is the most difficult to follow because it is so easy to be drawn to one side or the other.
I would have trouble thinking of humans in the middle if it wasn't for seeing the tendency towards extremes in the other species such as Minbari and Drazi.

Now that I think about it the middle path was indeed the hardest...Some went one way and some went the other way....So what did that mean?? Civil war.

Civil war is what usually happens. People go to one extreme or the other, won't compromise in the middle and you have civil war. Of course you can have civil war with just one extreme and the people in the middle as well.

I've only seen Babylon 5 once, so I don't know the aliens races...
In the episode were they had all the ambassadors coming on board and there was an attempt of murder.... etc
N e way, the race I like the best-so far- is the women's (who was in the Japanese garden) race.

i voted Narn, allthough i like all of the major races in B5, the mysteries of the Vorlons, the dark power of the shadows, the the conflicted Mimbari, the arrogance of the Centuri... For the Narn i think it is mainly down to the excellent character of G'Kar, he has such depth and emotion, and the Narn endured so much, yet came through it all...

The Narn. So steeped in tradition and spirituality, yet held to a rigid code of cultural behavior.

;)

G'Kar was one of my favorite characters. The way he changed and grew from when we first saw him. It looks like we will get to see him again in B5 Legend of the Rangers. I am definetly looking forward to seeing more of my favorite Narn.

gonna have to go with Vorlon, i just was so intrested in learning more about them:p, like ive always wondered if there werent only like a few hundred of them or so:rolly2: the other races are great to, and i was kinda stuck for a while between the NArn and vorlons:rolly2:

My favorite alien race is the shadows. They imposed thier will on the universe through force with the idea that from struggle comes evolution. They were evil on the surface but wanted the same thing as the vorlons: a strong race(s) to rule over this part of the galaxy when they have gone.

The vorlons accomplished their goal by trying to coerce and control under the guise of some supernatural being. They infected the early histories of many races with visions of "god" (that looked like vorlons) and used this to control them later. This is perhaps even more insidious.

So my vote goes to the shadows. However, G'Kar was my favorite character.

JMS did good...

At times it's hard to think of some of the races *as* alien. JMS did so well in writing his various creations they blend into the overall scheme of things that is the 'Babylon Station'.

Rowan

very true Rowan, i wasnt even thinking of them of aleins one time when my mom came in and asked who the lady with the big bone thing on her head was, then i was like oh thats an alein :p:rolly2:
