New Stargate SG-1 merchandise is on the way ...

Gatecon is VERY pleased to announce that we have secured a license from MGM to produce some brand new and official Stargate merchandise.

We are currently in the design stages of a Stargate SG-1 Calendar 2002, and Stargate SG-1 t-shirts. We hope to have these ready for sale around mid-June, and they will be available at the convention and via the Gatecon web site until the end of the year when the license expires.

However, the license ONLY allows us to ship to the United States and Canada.

Will keep you posted on progress here and at the Gatecon site. Again this is SG1 merchandise not convention stuff.

Re:Merchandise

I think one of the most annoying things is for us Brits is not to be able to buy this kind of stuff when the license is just for the States and Canada.

The calendar sounds great though I must admit and I hope that it wings its way over to us later in the year, we do have several different designs of t-shirts on sale here now.

The merchandise range isnt a big one but its quite good, t-shirts, watches, trading cards, patches, books vids and dvd's etc. Just going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that the gear makes its way over to us before the end of the year.....

i would love a couple of big posters, one of all the guys
and one of daniel, but i haven't seen anything here in the u.k..not fair:( ...peachy

watches????? where?

Re:Watches

There was a mail order company here in the UK that sold 3 different kinds of watches, they dont have them anymore. All had black leather straps, one had a rotating bezel in design of the spinning rings. The other had a gold colored face with an engraved Pyramid on the front and the third was silver faced with the words 'Stargate SG1' engraved on the front.

I havent seen them anywhere else and was glad I got my hands on the rotating silver bezeled one, they cost £24 here but Im keeping my eye out in case I spot anymore!

That's sooo... cool !

:aliengray

It's 'bout time somebody did something nice and offer SG-1 merchandise. My money's already burning a hole in my pocket

:D

Peachy,

One of the products we will be offerng will be full size posters. I can't tell you exact details of what the images on them will be, but there WILL be a Daniel poster and a group poster... Hopefully an Apophis poster and one or two more.

I have the initial designs done, but I can't be 100% sure until the proper artwork arrives from MGM.

I can tell you though... They look GREAT !!!

Group poster... sounds good.
Unfortunately almost everything is only for people from USA or Canada or sometimes for UK.
But what about the rest? Here, in CR, there's absolutely nothing here - no posters, photos, videos or DHDs, cards...
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING :( :dead:

Stargate Watches

I finally found the URL for those watches I mentioned a while back, Im not sure if they ship outside the UK so youll have to check that out.

The only downside is that theyve hiked the prices up which is a smack on the back of the hand for them, theyve shot up to £40 each!

www.madaboutscifi.com

They also have keyrings too, theyre priced at £5.99

I hope this helps, makes up for not being able to get our hands on those new SG1 merchandise like the calendar etc!

MGM are very picky when it comes to handing out licences.... And maybe for the fact that a worldwide licence cost a hell of a lot of money.

We are in the same boat here in Australia... No official Merchendise, and the only items available outside the MGM store can only be purchased within the UK, USA or Canada. It does make it hard for us, unless we have friends in those countries that can buy them for us.

It is a little dissapointing as well, knowing that at least half of the new Gatecon products are actualy being designed by me in Australia, and if I follow the rules, I can't even buy my own products. :(

O, my... I can't believe this, Gatecon. It's really a paradox.
I understand that licences cost a lotsa money but... in spite of this all... such regules seem to me a bit unfair if you ask me. :(

There are rules for reasons I guess, and I suppose that MGM or any other large corperation would grant a world wide license to people with basically no track record.

I'm hopeing that MGM will issue us a license next year based on how we went this year... And hopefully that means world wide distributions.... We can only hope. And I hope that MGM realise that there are huge holes in the world that cannont purchase Stargate merchendise, and many of those places are countries where Stargate is absolutely huge.. like here in Australia.

thanks gatecon

i really wanted a daniel poster, but as i'm here in the u.k
whats the chances??...peachy:(

I suppose the only way is to find someone in the US or Canada who is wlling to purchase it for you, then send it to you as a gift.

That would be the best idea.....

If we ever got worldwide distribution, that would be a great item to do up.

I'd like a pendant (small stargate or some glyphs - earth glyph or so) on a chain.
