I'm glad to hear that Indiana's post was a joke, but I was very suspicious of it anyway, since I have evidence otherwise.... SG-1 will be in the film as far as I can tell, since Amanda Tapping spilled the beans about being asked to be in the new movie. That's how I found out about the new movie's existance in the first place. All is good in the stargate universe... a lack of continuity would have been very bad I think, after all it's already a slight lack of continuity with the change of actors from the first film to the series. This movie should be great!

I don't think it would only be a film understood only by fans of the series, as with clever writing, movies can be made easy to follow no matter what. Look at the upcoming lord of the rings movies. I bet they had to cut out alot of important stuff to make the movies a reasonable length, but interviews with the director seem to suggest that anyone who's never even heard of Tolkien will be able to follow it, and yet for those who know the books and really look for details, they will all be there to be noticed.

Dont know whether youve heard, but the sequel movie may not follow the end of season 5.
I also heard that the sg-1 team may not even have existed in this movie.
Course, it's just a rumour. Do you know anything about it?
I'm looking forward to the sequel. Stargate is my fave movie of all time.

Edward, hi there & welcome.

What have you heard, and from what source? Did you hear that it would be a theatrical
film or a tv movie?

Amanda Tapping spilled the beans about being asked to be in a new Stargate film at a Stargate SG-1 convention. I'd say it's a theatrical movie then, as if it were a TV movie that was a part of the series, the series people would be making it, and therefore wouldn't have to ask all the actors :) (they could talk about it while filming sg-1 for example.)

Also, I noticed in a few other posts that a new Stargate movie had been announced, and that MGM has registered "www.stargate2.com" . It would be a bit odd to get a domain that clearly states the movie as being a sequel to stargate, the movie, if it were a TV movie. After all, children of the gods was called a TV movie, and even on the DVD it's refered to as "The sequel to the original movie to kickstart the series" or something to that effect, which obviously implies it was meant to be looked at as a movie.

I'd say this just about confirms that the new film will be a theatrical one...? Anyone disagree? New evidence maybe? I'm always up for a good debate/evidence hunt :)

Whether I'm right or wrong, I sure hope it is a theatrical movie... I've been wondering to myself for a while now why they don't make one. I'm sure it will be great if it is :)

I heard they're going to start shooting Stargate 2 after they're done with season 5.

Phew, I got all pissed off because sg-1 wasn't going to be in the new movie, Thanks a lot Indiana

All is well again. :D

Hey I think it would be great if sg-1 were to go back in time , lets say 10,000 years , when the goa'uld were still on Earth and they meet all of their arch enemies ( Ra, Sokar, Seth, Hathor etc.) as well as some friends like the tok'ra queen ( Egeria) who with the help of sg-1 creates the TOK'RA but is then killed by Ra. And then sg-1 starts a rebelion against the goa'uld and the local people burry the Stargate just like it did happen.
We have see sg-1 go back in time, why not once more.
I think it would be a blast to see sg-1 fighting the deceased goa'uld like Ra and maybe even see some unas

Cool idea

Hey Dawar, i think your idea on sg-1 going back to the time when goa'uld ruled sounds cool.
:D

I knew you'd like it

This way you can see all the dead Goa'uld and fight them all over
I even made a small script but not much details just the main plot about my idea if you want I can post it, and tell me what you think

Here is the small script hehe :)

Stargate 2

The story starts in camping park (with forest around) where Sam and her father George + Selmak are having a family vacation, when Selmak receives word from the Tok'ra saying that he must go back on some urgent matter, and that SG-1 should come too. SG-1 gets geared up and ready to go. On the way through the stargate there was a solar flare and they go back in time about 10 000 years. They appear in the North America because that is where the stargate is located. Moments after they step out, the stargate disappears (just like it happened in episode "1960"). They wonder around and find a village of primitive people (Native Indians or something) they spend the night there and in the morning the village was attacked by the goa'uld, who were looking for hosts and slaves. SG-1 and the people from the village are then transported to Egypt in a transport ship where they will serve as slaves. The goa'uld that was in charge of the slaves recognizes that Teal'c is a Jaffa and that Selmak speaks in goa'uld language, but at that time the Tok'ra don't exist so he thinks he is a goa'uld and that the rest of SG-1 are his servants with Teal'c being the jaffa guard. SG-1 decides to go along with this pretence and poses as servants of the goa'uld (Selmak, because he is the only one who can speak like one). Then they meet Hathor and Ra who do not but their disguise and think they are traitors so Ra sentences them to death but Hathor wanted to know more about where they came from so she rescues the SG-1 and Selmak and Ra finds out that she betrayed him and banishes he to spend the rest of her life trapped in a sarcophagus in a Aztec temple in South America (and then 10 000 she will be released by a group of Archaeologists just like in episode "Hathor". Then SG-1 find out that there is another person serving Ra (the Tok'ra queen Egeria) SG-1 manages to convince that they are from the future and the Egeria will be the one who will rebel against Ra and start the Tok'ra. She creates many symbiotes that will be the tok'ra rebels like Selmak and the others, but Ra captures Egeria and extracts info from her by torture and then kills her. In the mean time Sg-1 is becomes friends with a slave family who hides them from the jaffa that are looking for them. SG-1 now has to make sure that the baby symbitotes survive and form the tok'ra so they take control of the stargate and send the tok'ra to a safe place where they can evolve and start fighting the goa'uld. After that is done SG-1 plans to start a rebellion against the goa'uld so they manage to convince a group of slaves that the goa'uld are not gods. All the other goa'ulds find out about the intruders from the future and their plans to start a rebellion so Ra, Sokar, Apophis, Seth send their jaffa to find the intruders and silence the rebellion, which would cause a lot of trouble for them. But while the jaffa are looking for the SG-1 they meet other jaffa serving different goa'ulds (Ra, Sokar, Apophis, Seth) so the jaffa start fighting each other and SG-1 uses this opportunity to convince a lot more slaves and together they fight the remaining jaffa, and burry the gate. But now the SG-1 has to go back home so they contact the Asgard who can predict when the next solar flare will be formed and they send the SG-1 back to the future. When they get home they find out that events have not change, in fact the rebellion that they caused and all the events that happened it the past are the actual events that were supposed to happen, and Ra, Sokar, Seth etc. are dead and Apophis is still powerful.

The End

Oh lordy

Dawar. This is brilliant!
I mean, Wow!
This really is exellent.
You should write it up as a fanfic. I like the idea of SG-1 creating the Tok'ra and the rebellion that drove Ra and the other Goa'uld from earth.:rolly2:
Keep up the good work. Got any other ideas? I got a few of my own if you want to read them.:aliengray

Sure I would love to hear your idea and suggestions.
This is the first real story that I have ever writen, cuz I dont like writing poems or short stories but I LOVE STARGATE and I do have a big imagination, and I fantasize about things like this.
Thanks for your comment

Some people might think that going back in time for the 3rd time might be too much, but as they say " 3rd time is a charm"

I have even added a suprise ending.
still working on it but will post it soon.
