I don't supose anyone can help me here--
I don't know much about DVDs but am seriously considering buying the sg series (duh). anyhow, i noticed that the UK has season 2 and 3, or something like that, and the US only has season 1. but my question is what the heck is 'region encoding' and does it have a serious effect on my purchase? Region 1 says US and Canada, while region 2 say Europe, Japan, and Middle East or something. Anyhow, is there any reason why I (in the US) shouldn't buy region 2 encoded DVDs or something?
Probably sound like a total doof, but if anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it. thanx.

REGION2 DVD

If you buy region 2 dvd's, they will only play on u.k./m.e. systems (unless of course, you have a multi system player). T.V./Video/Dvd systems across the world are NOT universal - so although it may drive you mad, just keep waiting for T.B.T.P. to release the next series on DVD.

O.k., so I should have added

"for region 1 - USA -"

to the end of that last message.

Thank you so much (though i must say your answer was not quite wanted i wanted to hear--Wait? are you kidding me? i have the patience of a three year old.)
