Guys........ I'm not sure about Australia, however they may have the equivalent of the 'Stage' magazine. You can buy this, you don't have to be an actor or musician to get one. Variety magazine also sometimes has adverts where they ask for people to become extras.
They like all sorts of people. old, young, fat, thin, beautiful, plain, whatever. Because nearly everyone will be ideal as an extra for something at some time. My ex hubby did it and appeared in a movie with Michael Caine and Sting. My friend Jimmy Nail did it and eventually got to star in TV shows. And yes for those who do know who he is, Jimmy Nail and I used to do the same entertainment circuits in the North East of England, when he was in a band called King Crab... he used to regularly play a place called Balmbra's Music Hall in Newcastle upon Tyne. He also used to practise in the next room to my band. Brian Johnston of AC/DC was another guy who did the NE clubs, we used to often play in the same town but different clubs and catch each other's act in the breaks!
So it's possible if you're really determined to get into the acting/entertainment scene, but you must be prepared for disappointments and hard knocks. I have an Equity Card and it's hard enough to keep that up these days.
See if you can get the Stage/Variety and look in the classifieds section, you might find an agency asking for extras, and when people like Fox/MGM are looking for such people for a film, they may well send you up for it!
Just a suggestion....
Of course you don't HAVE to listen to me
I'm sure that there are many out there in SG1 land who know better than ole Grandma here...... there always is!
