After seeing "Shade of Grey" the Tollen basicly said that they would give SGC tech only if it wouldn't be used in any way for a weapon. Then somehow it hit what they could give. A C-14 handheld dater. i don't see how knowing the age of something could be a weapon. And it would save SGC mondo $$$$$ in chemical scans and be a great help on other world research mission.

Anyone else care to take a shot.

Oh they could give us the plan for the Ion Cannon, and we wouldn't have to worry about MotherShips, the nullifier and we wouldn't have to worry about them coming through stargate, they could save our world.

That nullifier thing would be great and it couldn't be used as a weapon, technically.

They could teach us how to build a stargate, too, but they never will, the smug little s.o.bs.

It could easily be argued that stargate technology is a weapon: effectively being able to open a door to a planet with a gate. Huge military advantage.

Interestingly, I think they would also argue the weapons nullifier is also, in itself, a weapon. If you arrange a meeting of two groups, knowing that one lot WILL be disarmed by coming through the nullifier, then you have the military advantage.

Conversely, we might persuade them that some sort of communications device, many medical scanning, diagnosis or healing devices, or even domestic products (new ways of faster cooking, or entertainment, e.g. live-feed holograms) would be acceptable.

Fancy playing video games through one of those things in "Rules of Engagement".

The vo'cum or "vacuum"? that would be sweet instead of a theater, or for announcing like that scene in Starship Troopers when they make announcements during the football.

Then again, although it would not be from the Tollan, those modified MP5s and staff weapons from "Rules of Engagement" would I am sure be of great benefit to Earth soldiers in training and so on... a cross between real ammunition and non-lethal alternatives such as paint-ball or air-soft (plastic BB).

They were not modified weapons, Teal'c said that they were Crystals that could take the form of any weapon, as shown by the red mark at the butt of the gun, it was also on their M9s. It looked like they could only fire at single shot, not burst, or full auto.

Well, either way, they could be useful as training weapons - and I am sure modified for more rapid fire...
