in latter seasons the main guy who h8s the SGC is Maybourne, but i recently watched an earlier season1 ep and just realized that Samuels was as bad.

i was just just wondering who u guys like/h8 more, Maybourne or Samuels???
 
i didn't think maybourne was just as bad as samuals
i hated samuals, he was sooo oily...peachy:D
 
Yeah, I got the feeling that Maybourne was once a decent guy who got into bad company and learned from them how to make the wrong choices. Whereas Samuels seemed to be slimy by nature.

Samuels did bad things from selfish motives, only trying to get more for himself. Maybourne had good goals - safety of the planet, that kind of stuff - but he went about it the wrong way.
 
I agree....definetly Maybourne. He does have the right idea and occasionally he does the right thing (Foothold).

But Samuels was just a weasel rememeber "Within the Serpent's Grasp" not only was he willing to sacrifice SG1, he also requested permission to get to safety himself!! Yuck how un-military.

Isn't it 'Serpents Lair' when they all think SG-1 is dead, and Hammond doesn't let Samuels leave to the beta site (?). And he didn't believe that SG-1 would be able to sabotage the ship, let alone destroy it.
He was acting so smug over his 'Goa'uld busters' and the bombs didn't even WORK!
Lets just say the man got on my nerves.
 
there is a good reason i gave samuels a goauld...the guy's a schmuck.

Hey, in Urgo, doesn't Urgo pretend to be samuels, or was that someone else?
 
The guy I hate is Senator Kinsey, who thinks that God's gonna save everyone. How did he get to be politician, if he's so naive?!?! :mad:
 
LOL Skydiver, Samuels is a schmuck! Maybourne is a better guy, cause like RP says, he has reasonably good intentinos, just no morals. Samuels is only out to glorify himself and save himself.

I don't think Kinsey is naive. I think he's corrupt, wily, snaky, and evil. Of the three of them, he scares me the most because he still has power.
 
let's say apophis invades earth and the magnificent trio is sent to negotiate...

samuels would hide in a closet and look for the escape tunnels...or if things went bad, spill his guts to the enemies to save his skin

maybourne would at least try to stop apophis, if for no other reason than to save earth

kinsey would stand up, give apophis a lecture on why GOD will come down and smite the evil one...then wonder why apophis got sick of his rhetoric and blew his head off...


and then sg-1 would show up to save these fantastic fellows from themselves...with maybourne's assistance of course...and samuels would crawl out of the closet and try to tell everyone it was all HIS idea
 
I agree with everyone else. I like the Maybourne charachter. He's not truly evil, just misguided. He has the ability to do what is right. Samuels on the other hand is a snake (even without the symbiote you gave him Skydiver). He deserves to be taken over by a gould, but then again he's so slippery, he'd probably get away.:cool:

I don't think that maybourne is too bad a guy, he helped out Jack in Chain Reaction when they got rid of Hammond, but he was the one who was leading a group of people through the Stargate to steal other technologies, but he's definately not as bad as Kinsey and Samules, I don't think they'd think twice about giving up the world to the Goa'uld to save their slimy hides, probably opt to become one too! :evil:

Hah, Kinsey is someone else I couldn't stand. He put his foot right in it in 'Politics', arguing the 'Pandoras Box' theory with Daniel (bad idea), and then doing his whole 'God will save us' thing with Teal'c (even worse idea).
 
would anyone mind tellin me what happened in chain reaction? i read a short synopsis of it and it said that hammond stepped down from general of the sgc!!!
is this true?:(

In chain reaction General Hammond steps down as leader of the SGC, without giving a reason. General Bower then takes over as new leader of the SGC. He dismantles SG-1 and Jack goes to see General Hammond, he tells Jack that he recieved threats, then his grand daughters were picked up from school by unknown men in a black car, so he was forced to resign.
Jack seeks help from Mayborne to find out who did this and to put it right. In the meantime Bower has asked Sam to make a Naquadah bomb and to test try in on a planet, but the whole planet expodes as there is naquada mine nearby and naquada in the soil, leaving the stargate attached to the wormhole, they close the iris and it heat up (like in the serpants song). I closes eventually at 38min 20 secs ish. Jack finds out that Kinsey is involved with everything the NID has been up to for a long time, and he manages to persuade him to reinstate Hammond. At the end Mayborne phones up Jack form a desert paradise, showing that he got his fair share out of it also.

i havent seen any eps past deadmans switch, but do u see any more of samuels?? i liked the way he cowarded in pressurizing situations!:D
