5.14: The Summit

Summit Particularly keen fans of the show should start getting ready to write in after the events of the two parter Summit unfold. Not only does the lovely Daniel Jackson get sent off somewhere to become a slave but, according to Wright, "There's a bigger, badder Goa'uld beating the you know what out of all the other System Lords. I don't want to give him a name so we're calling him 'Baltimore' at the moment." He laughs before continuing, "The sacrifice of one of the series' favourite characters is the only way to retrieve a truly dire situation." You have been warned.//

but then theres that time when they killed Martouf (no, big gasp ).

who's our favourite - hammond, frasier, cassie, marty (the guy that was right), jacob, one of them tok'ra, simmons, davis (both of them), (hmm maybe they'll kill Maybourne)

Well look on the bright side Jaxie. At least the character you like IS still alive! They killed my favourite character off and I don't like ANY of the others, so watching Stargate is a rather bittersweet experience for me.

Especially since I read on another list that one of the eps is going to include a big System Lord gathering, with Nyerti and Yu present.

My favourite charcter, Cronos, won't be in it because he got killed by that cretin Teal'c.... and I don't like any of the others, either Goa'uld or SG1 so there's not much reason for me to watch it. Although I suppose I will watch it if I happen to be in the house when its on.

However I don't go out of my way to watch as I did before. I must admit to losing interest quite a lot after Double Jeopardy and I only watched Exodus because I was at my son's house and he had it on! He kept saying to me, 'but you like this show Mum' and I felt too stupid to tell him that I didn't like it much any more!

How said is this?

Anyway, I think the sacrificial lamb might be Jacob Carter.... don't know why... I just have a feeling.

i have a bad feeling about jacob too...this is the two parter where they introduce 8 new system lords(barring rewrites) at least 3 of which are female...and i believe it is the return of nirti& yu...

anyone have an idea that the sgc might be banding with the system lords to take apophis down?

I did think of that angle, but if they do, then SG1 are going to have to do a lot of fast talking especially since they are responsible for the death of so many of the System Lords, not least of whom being Cronos, who WAS supposed to be the most influential. And one that Nyerti AND Yu slightly deferred to in Fair Game (Even though Nyerti was planning his death, she still tried to do it so that she wouldn't be blamed) I would imagine that his death would have caused some considerable waves and a shift in the balance of power.

So maybe Summit is a meeting not just between the System lords but will involve everyone who has a vested interest in bringing down Apophis. And somehow I think if SG1 are involved in such a thing, then the Tok'ra won't want to be left out would they? Which would bring in Jacob nicely to set him up as some sort of sacrifice, although how the storyline would actually come together I can only speculate.

Gee, Summer, aren't you forgetting that it was Daniel who prevented Jack and et all from pulling the plug on Sam? He realized that she was inside, remember "I am here..........". He convinced Jack that she was still there. As for Danny didn't look too sad when Sam was dying in Entity...so Sam hasn't looked to concerned the various time Daniel has been in jeopardy. When the rest of the team came back after defeating the replicators it was Teal'c who said he was happy that Daniel was well, not a word from Sam' and same in The Light, when Sam and Teal'c came in and saw Daniel with his head on his knees it was again Teal'c who expressed his happiness/relief that Daniel Jackson was well, again not a word from Sam. This sort of bothered me at the time because in many ways Sam was "maternal" with Daniel and they used to be very close (not in a sexual way, natch), just because of their interests and thirst for knowledgge, their being scientists, etc.

They should would suffer immensely if Daniel were killed... remember he is the conscience of SG1. So many instances where he has saved their butt (Solitudes) or prevented them from making terrrible mistakes (The Other Side). Think about it folks, where SGC and SG1 would be without Daniel. Not to mention that he was the one who started it all. They are travelling the Universe because of him. He convinced them that Apophis was planning to invade Earth. Although he is not military he pulls his weight. And he is a very brave man. Hey, just remember Jack's words in Fire and Water.

I would think, it's probably safe to say, that none of the core Stargate players will be killed. The show revolves around SG-1 and I don't think they could kill one of them off pernently.


My guess would be either Bra'tac or Jacob

as much as you dislike daniel he isn't going anywhere, and they were all there by sam's bedside but daniel was the one who prevented jack from blowing sam up, even tealc said that the entity has played them for fools so if i am correct and there are several scenes in entity i like and as a MS backer and likeing of daniel and whole team, he did in fact save sam's life everyone else would have blown her up so??

but daniel/ms not going anywhere so he has a contract all thru season 5 so you might just live with the fact he is not going anywhere woo hoo
