Credit really needs to go out to Ryan Peters for this Showtime Stargate SG-1 site.

For those of you who didn't know... Ryan started out just like the rest of us... A fan of the show, who put together a top class web site that was an immediate hit.

After a while, Ryan began rnning into server problems, and had to shut down the site. What followed was probably the biggest fan get-together that I have ever seen. Thousands of fans petitioned MGM and Showtime on Ryan's behalf, and after a few months of pestering and hounding, Ryan began talks with Showtime. And the rest is history.

I think that everyone should look back and reflect every now and then, and remember what our roots are.... Because at some stage, even the big things were little.

I say charge your glasses, and give a toast to Ryan.

Now.. This is going back a hell of a long time, but I do beleive the answer is Yes. As far as I can remember, he always had that domain name.

i never really got involved in that site. I used to go to www.sg-1.net all the time though. It was about the first thing i ever did on the internet :)

Sean did a great job with SG-1.net, and it was sort of sad that part of his MGM agreement was to shut the site down when he took over the MGM site.

But from what I hear... Sean's contract with MGM has expired, and he seems to have dropped off the face of the earth.

Does anyone know what Sean is up to now ?

That's really too bad about Sean. Everyone was so excited for him. SG1.net was a great site and Sean deserves a lot of credit for holding it together.

Cheers,

nope, not heard anything about it. His pictures are still up at sg-1.net somewhere although i can't find the url at the mo.

Thanks again Padders!

Duuuuuuhhhhhhh Suds!!!!

:D Ive only been there like a bizillion times! It's times like these you need a huge paper bag to stick over yourself and hide! :dead:

I agree with Allan re Ryan's site. It's unfortunate that there is so much abuse there (cheating, certain situations in the DL - including rnak-basedd "bullying" abuse by certain ppl), but he's apparently solved most of it with the additions of the moderators. I guess I wasn't the only one who emailed him with that idea.

Ryan's done a lot of work to clean up the site and should also be commended for that. I am one of the many eager to see his rumored new site. Assuming I have enough time left over from training on AusGate.
