Orgulus sounds like the name of a drunken Roman noble. :) But I'll risk public humiliation and suggest it as nose, simply because the word sounds like one. :)


Ideate - I'll risk the bleedin' obvious and go for "create ideas".

Torrid - as in a "torrid affair" - therefore wet, slippery, slimey, seems the most appropriate.
 
Shall I reveal the answers when everyone hasn't had a chance to give it a whirl yet? Nah, I'll wait a bit. You guys will just have to look it up. By the way, I didn't know what it was either, I pulled it from a dictionary :p

Very amusing. Not terribly erudite, but amusing just the same!
 
I don't know, I have a few feelings about them all, but I'm not 100% so I really can't give any answers.

Will be looking them up in the dictionary though, as I enjoy finding out about new words. :)

Hypes is correct. A dirge is usually thought of as a musical jeremiad but can also be a written poem or story.
