The Sliders travel to a parallel dimension where an asteroid is on a collision course with Earth, and Einstein's early experiments with a nuclear reaction failed, never allowing nuclear weapons to be created. With only 48 hours until "Doomsday" (and 72 hours until the next slide), Arturo works feverishly with an alternate Conrad Bennish, an eccentric, yet brilliant young student physicist, to recreate Einstein's equation for the atomic bomb - but will the atomic cure prove more deadly than an asteroid? The others confront the reality that they may never get home, whether the asteroid hits or not, for the first time; and the fact that Quinn is responsible for their predicament.
