Since we'll be getting the 5th series around September, I have one question to ask:

Will you be able to resist the urge of reading spoilers from the USA, looking at screen captures, or even downloading episodes from the web???

I don't think I have the will power to wait!

(You can imagine what the build up to Christmas must be like in my house - as I tear the house apart looking for presents ;) )

I'm with yu nic I can't and won't wait.
I will be the first to read spoliers I just can't help it I need to know and need to know now!!!!!
I was like this with Buffy I said that i wouldn't and yep you guessed it I had to know!
:D

Yeh totally!
I've totally spoiled the 8th series of the x-files for myself! (Or perhaps the writers and producers are responsible for spoiling the 8th series;) Cheeky me!)

It has it's advantages though - if you know there's a really ace episode coming up you can stick a tape in and set yourself up so that no one with bother you while it's on... hang on, I'd do that anyway! :D

im sorry to say i'm with you guys, just can't help myself
the chance of seeing new piccys of daniel, and i'm right
there:D ...peachy:D

Peachy, call me crazy, but I'm really starting to sense that you have a bit of a thing for Daniel? ;)

(Not that I could blame you though!! )

I'm not sure, I just sort of... sense these things. It's a gift... or I'm the host of some alien force;)

Quick question - Daniel's hair:
Better long n' floppy or short n' sharp?

Personally, I like it short - his face is too pretty to hide!

Daniel is better with short hair and his glasses on that way he is soooooo cute and yummy:blush:
Again I'm with you nic I record every episode that I can that is if I don't have them on DVD and I watch them over and over again
:D

Pam

I've just gotten a DVD drive in my computer, so I was thinking of buying a few DVD's.
How many episodes do you get per disk? And do they contain any additional info - such as "making of the episodes" etc..?

nic,

I'm quite new to the whole dvd thing as I have only just got one but you usually get four episodes on one dvd (better value for money!!!) and yes on some you get extras on others you don't.
On one of mine I have got a profile on Daniel Jackson (yum) and on others I have interviews with costume designs so its all good stuff.
I am waiting for them to bring season one box set out for region two dvd players (does anyone know when that will be)
But I do say that dvd's are so much better then the videos and all the extras are cool.
I just have to buy all the dvd's now!!!
:D

i like daniel's hair short too, but to be honest i
would take him anyway long/short.
i am the same as you guys too, i have all of stargate
on tape, i have just bought a dvd so i hope to start
collecting them on disc, i think the box sets are due out
the summer some time, thats what i am waiting for..peachy

Thanks Peachy I have been going mad trying to find out, you have put my mind at rest!!

I will just have to keep watching the vidoes till then!

Cool, I'll wait 4 the box sets.
I'm telling you guys, my video collection is just getting TOO big!
I've got over 250tapes lying around in my room with Stargate,X-files,Voyager,Friends,Graham Norton,Father Ted etc etc... and I have NO idea whats on each tape!!! Perhaps I should spend the summer labelling??? ;)
Sadly, I've had to start taping over old episodes:(

I know there's sites out on the web which you can play episodes from, but do you know of any which you can download and save to your own computer from?

You can download and save the episodes from Gammquad on your computer, providing you have enough disk space! They're about 18/20 megabytes an episode.

When you start to download it into something like Windows Media, it will save it to your C:/Temp directory, before logging off the computer, go to that directory find the relevant file and save it to another directory, one you use frequently My Documents or something. If you close the computer down before saving it, you have a chance to lose it, especially if you clean out the temporary files (which you should do anyway, because they take up disk space!).

My computer has DVD on it, but I haven't bought any yet. A friend of mine has a boxset of series 1 'Farscape', so I might have a look at that. Videos, I have quite a few: 'Trek', and 'Stargate' naturally (One has four and a half Sg epis at the end of S2), but also old 'Friends' (Before the Ch4 series got dumb and I watched 'Have I got news for you' instead!) and old ER including the pilot (Great!). Apart from that the whole family likes 'Simpsons'.

What was the subject? Oh, I've looked at S3 stuff for september on Ch4, but I'd never look at S5 spoilers, series 3 is tantalising enough.

Thanx Anni.

I easily tracked down the site through Yahoo, however my browser's telling me the page cannot be displayed.
Maybe it's currently down?

Hmm, yes the site does seem to be down at present, at least it won't load on my computer either....

Movie size

I'll keep checking back.

Can I ask you another question Anni?

About what size are the movies? Most I've found are very small (to limit byte size) but I've noticed some are better quality than others. I think it was STARGATE COMMAND where I found some good quality movies concidering the size format.

If I'm going to be a naughty minx and watch the 5series before it airs in the UK (which I probably most definately will!:naughty:) I want to watch it the best movie possible.:D

I think that there are some sites which have a bigger megabyte size and they will be better quality, but they take a while to download especially if you have below 56 modem. I haven't tried to download any with my present cable modem, but I can download upwards of 3 megs a minute on other things.

I think the average size of the movies on Gammaquad is about 20 megs, some might be slightly less or more. but usually, once the season starts and the Yanks get the episodes, someone usually indicates on one of the lists that they are now on the Gammquad site or even on one of the others. If I see that, I will post something on this forum.

And don't worry about being naughty! LOL. Last season, I watched all of the episodes via Gammaquad bar the last few which we in the UK got before everyone anyway!

I just hate listening to all the discussions and not knowing what they're on about!

Thanx again Anni!
