"Stargate SG-1" star Christopher Judge is up for a sixth season of the hit show, should MGM give the cast and crew the go-ahead. In an interview with syndicated columnist Ian Spelling, Judge -- who plays the stoic Jaffa warrior Teal'c -- said that he'd be willing to sign on for another year.
"If any of the production values or the stories or anything like that were to suffer, then I think that everybody would rather end it after this year," he said. "But if the level of writing continues on, and if everybody is still committed to the quality of everything on the show, then I think a sixth season would be great."
Judge joins Richard Dean Anderson ("Colonel Jack O'Neill") in expressing his willingness to continue on past Season Five (story). It's a welcome announcement for SG-1 fans -- especially because a contract dispute between Judge and MGM last year almost prevented Season Five from happening.
Showtime is already advertising the fifth year -- which starts June 29 -- as the show's final season, though MGM hasn't announced anything one way or the other (story). The company is expected to announce the show's future in the next week.
