Is MS leaving the show in season 5?

I have no insider information, nor any articles to refer to. I just wondered if, as apparently, there is no mention of any other Daniel scenes after the episode Summit if Michael Shanks is calling it a day or is he simply taking time off to pursue other projects? Anyone out there got any ideas? Hope no one minds me asking. Not out to cause trouble or star a panic on the net. Just curious.

Hi Gee,
I don't think he's leaving, but I think he has been taking time out to do other projects and I think he's also interested in directing.

As for season5, I heard somwhere (perhaps from a little birdie) that RDA was wanting to do some work outside Stargate this year, so season5 will have a bit more Daniel and Sam episodes.

This is purely what I've read.

There's probably others in here who know more than me

No I have not heard that MS was leaving, like nic said I have heard that RDA and CJ want to take more time off to do other things so the whole team might not be in all episodes but I am really looking forward to more Sam and Janet stuff and lots more Danny

ok here is the deal;

all actors are signed thru season five that means even MS so he is not going anywhere so just wipe that out of your mind

from what i saw we are haveing lots of team eps. yes team eps. with the now and then individual thrown in, seems team is going off world more this year

none have signed for season 6 but i would think if they do a season 6, all actors would have to sign if that were case it would tie up loose ends then i think all actors would stay or if were to go into movie all actors would stay

so NO MS is going to be around this season and no actors are directing this year, so don't look for MS behind the scenes looks like 22 eps. of the guy

hope that answers it so lets just drop this subject and enjoy SEASON 5 guys, and MS's eps. seem to be:

beast of burden
the tomb
summit part one and two
red sky(team) but daniel either helps the people or something can't really remember spoiler but....
and wormhole xtreme(team)

we just have not heard about anything else because after 14 eps. we will go to reruns so will have to wait for the last 8 after that on showtime

You think? I never picked up on that. Then again, Im a Carter fan so I was more focused on her character.

I think they over shadowed Dannys concern for Sam with Jacks.

Thats just a "shippers" opinion though!

Hey sorry normally I'm a tolerant person, but it might be that you're a bit obsessive, don't you think?
If you ever watched the series you might have seen that Sam and Daniel have quite a close relation.
Moreover I agree that they had to focus on the Jack/Sam thing, and it was well done.


And if you're a Daniel hater, why do you bother? why do you watch it?
It's okay if you like some characters more and others less, but if you hate a character, you should stop watching.

I never understood how people could be so...sorry, mad! to involve themselves so much to feel hatred against a fictional character.
I mean, I can remember how hated Shannon Doherity (damn never could spell that name) was when she did the Brenda in Beverly Hills 90210. I was not more than a child then, perhaps fourteen but still I felt pity for the people that had to project their aggressions into a fictional person and I really hopw you'll wake up very soon.

Oh you are so wrong, girl! It was Teal'c who pointed the zat at Sam and really acted like she was to be wasted, like she was the enemy. Looked at Daniel's face when Teal'c does that, he was shocked/surprised.

Really it WAS Daniel who saved Sam. If he hadn't pointed out that Sam was in the machine, that she was the one typing "I am here........" Jack (her beloved Jack) would had kill Sam once and for all. So for you to say that it TOTALLY without basis.

Well last night i saw the episode Meridian on sky one and daniel jackson

died "gutted" in the end of it and turned into one of thoose white glowing aliens like the one in the end of the the episode "Absolute power" and "Ascension"
so i doubt we have seen the last of him
