I don't know that there's any reason I should post this, but I was wondering if anyone had ever read an incredible book by Karl Schroeder called Ventus. I mention it because I thought that the way he created a world where the very elements are sentient, and the rocks will come alive to stop you building a gas bomb, was very unique. There was also a knack for duplicity, scheming and invention in there that is hard to find these days, with so many cliche fantasy epics and dull sci-fi tales that retread old ground in a moderately interesting way. Anyway, opinions?

Hi polymorphikos, and welcome to the chronicles network. :)

As for reading of it - I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with it, but I have a funny feeling that other members such as knivesout and zorka might be familiar with it. :)
