i don't mean to be a drudge but let's celebrate quietly until we have confirmation from another source. i'm not saying darren is unreliable....he usually is but if i've learned nothing on the net is that unless it comes from multiple sources it may not be correct.

darren's probably right adn has a scoop but there's nothing on the mgm or showtime site.

y'alll can call me a wet blanket tomorrow when it's confirmed.

Ok read the stuff on starguide - looks reasonably promising for season six and (don't kill me for this) I also hope they are right about no season seven!

Before you all get upset may I remind you of the debacle of B5's season 5 which had to be padded out so much because they found out too late they were getting it or of the really good shows (eg X files, Voyager) that go way past their sell by date. Don't get me wrong I would love Stargate to go on forever but only if it can stay at its current quality and experience of TV programmes in any genre shows that this doesn't happen! I would be very pleased to see a definite final season which allows the writers to finish plot line properly and allows Stargate to consist of 130 episodes of good stuff.

No gunshots from me, bel. Roses, maybe. One of the worst things that can happen to a series is for it to be forced to go extra seasons beyond it's natural life span. When the producers, writers, and actors are ready to call it quits, it's time. The B5 example is perfect. When Joe thought he was going to be cancelled after Sea 4, he wrapped everything up, so Season 5 was cobbled on to the end. Another good one from the past is Magnum PI. They'd written, and filmed, a final episode which had Magnum being killed. Then the network made them do another season, and it sucked.

What would be great is if we got both a season 6 and then a movie. Why not ask for the world, eh?

What happend with Magnum PI? I was 11 or 12 at the time. I remember him being killed...well in the hospital & at the end of the show ...gees what was his name...the house keeper, balding guy, anyway he was saying something like MAgnum come back, but instead we see Magnum walk away off into "the white light". Was that the last episode or did they continue it after that?
