It's about three sisters, who are witches and have powers.
Prue: The eldest have move thinks with her hands and can astral project (be in two places at the same time).
Piper: Middle sister. She has the power to freeze people, ie they don't experience time and can't move around. They do not remember this happened. She's married to Leo, who is a White Lighter, they are like Angels who protect the witches and direct them towards innocent people who need help or demons who need vanquishing. However white lighters and witches aren't allowed to fall in love, so that was quite interesting!
Pheobe: Youngest. She gets visions of the future, enabling them to help. She feels she's the least helpful so she learnt kick boxing! The demons or warlocks don't stand a chance! She went back to college, and has now just graduated.
They only got these powers after their grandmother ded. Their mom drowned when they were young, pheobe was too young to remember her. Anyway they didn't know what to do with them. And that seems really interesting unfortunately i didn't watch most of the first series so i can't help. maybe someone else can??

Sorry about the rush before, how about some additional information?
HALLIWELL sisters live in a really old, large house called Halliwell Manor, which is a focus point of energy.
Prue: Used to work at at Auction House called Bucklins. She was quite good at that but decided it didn’t make her truely happy. So she quit and took up Photography. Her childhood sweetheart was Andy Trudough (sp??), who joined the police and became an Inspector. But they stopped seeing each other after Prue cast a ‘Truth Spell’ and discovered that Andy would react badly to finding out she was a witch so she didn’t tell him. He worked it out eventually just before he got killed up a demon at end of series 1. After that she went out with a couple of people but still hasn’t found anyone to fill Andy’s place.
Piper: She DESPERATELY wants a normal life. To this end she tried to have a relationship with a human called Dan but Leo was around, making the Piper/Leo thing even more fun! She owns a bar called P3, it has some pretty cool music bands. She also has a newer power, in which she can unleash fireballs and blow up any demons she comes across. But she’s still working for full control of it.
Pheobe: She’s in love with a half demon half human called Baltazaar or Cole. She thought he could be good, and he seemed to be making a very good attempt at it, until he killed a good witch. Obviously resulting in a lot of pain from Pheobe. But he now claims he was under a spell from The Source, so didn’t have a choice. She believed him and tried to help him. But The Source wants her turned evil and then killed.
I think the real point of the show is to see them struggle with their lives and emotions, realising that under the powers they are only human who just have to deal with evil and protect other people.
White Lighters like Leo, started off as humans. As humans they’re incredibly self less and caring and so when they die they are offered a position as a White Lighter.
After Andy’s death his partner Daryl (can’t remember sir name at the mo.) found out about them being witches (missed that ep so don’t know how) and he now helps them.
The Book of Shadows: This is a book that’s been in their family from the very first witch. It tells them about the bad guys and how to deal with them.
BAD GUYS
Warlocks: Opposite of witches kinda, always bad. Have powers and can do spells. Prue’s old boss at Bucklins was a warlock.
Dark Lighters: Opposite of white lighters. They try to kill potential White Lighters whilst they are still human, preventing them from any good they might do.
Demons: A whole variety of these! Baltazaar, Banshees which feed on pain, Tempus, who can turn back time etc etc you get the point....not nice people!
The Source: A BIG power for evil, i’d guess demon. But he controls a lot of other demons, like a master demon!
The Council: A group of followers of evil. They’re “pretty high up in the evil food chain.†Apparently they organise some of the attacks from evil onto the Charmed ones (the three sisters)

Has anyone e-mailed Padders with the request yet? Or are we waiting to see if anyone else would like to join?
I believe that posting after taking a poll would be the proper thing to do. However, there are some people who don't want to take responsibility or the heat for their answers and don't respond that also is their right. I voted for what is "Charmed" as I do not watch much of the conventional (non-cable) channels. Eight votes are good but more is better for a mini-forum and you need people to consistently go to the forum and discuss. Keep working on this people, I still think it is a good idea!
