I think that of all the SG characters, Daniel's loss would be felt the most. He is trully the most irreplaceable.

18. He is not vain (and he has every reason to be).
19. He has leadership qualities, witness how he was loved in Abydos, how they reached out to touch him when he was leaving. I think he was their teacher, their friend, their leader in so many ways. Of course, he is surrounded by military men and women. so he can't properly exercise them.
20. He has the courage of standing by his convictions, even when facing ridicule and mockery. All his colleagues and friends and professors thought he was crazy, even his grandfather and yet he didn't bend or went crazy (like his grandafther, for example). And he was right!
21. He is not afraid to face any one, no matter how powerful, senators, generals, Goaul'ds, etc.

Really, Daniel is one in a billion. SG1 and the rest, including a very grateful nation should thank their lucky stars. I think that maybe the President should bestow on him the highest civilian medal for his many contributions to Earth and the friendship with aliens. Danny is invaluable!

No, I am just an Adm. Assistant and it's too late to change. I just feel that with Daniel, the writers/directors and certainly MS have created a wonderfully fleshed, interesting, complex, many-layered, "real" character.

And though it has been pointed out before, I think the Geico producers should have infrigment issues with Disney. I saw Atlantis and starting with the logo, the A certainly resemble the sysmbol in Stargate, a lot of things are too similiar, especially the Milo character to Daniel.

He is a linguist; he wears glasses; his parents died when he was a little boy; he is raised by his grandfather (yeah, I know D was abandoned by his grandfather, but Milo could have been raised by his grandmother or uncles, etc.); his theories aren't believed by his peers; he is giving a lecture about them (to an empty room); he is fired; somebody comes to rescue him when he is at the lowest point of his career; he travels with an African American (Teal'c), a blonde woman (Sam?), a military type guy (Jack?); he discovers this incredible civilization; he fights to save it; gets the other wordly girl; she is the daughter of the chieftain; he stays behind. I am sure that I forget more similarities but don't you think it all adds up to too many coincidences? I do. What do you think?

 FCOL! Yes, that is quite creepy! I have not seen the movie, but this might make me.

For Crying Out Loud?

At least that's what I thought it stood for.
