Thanks to John Smith, Co-Executive Producer of our favorite show, 40 lucky winners at Gatecon 2001 will be getting a tour of the studio on Sunday morning! The winners will get a tour of the STARGATE SG-1 sets including the control room, briefing room, General Hammond's office and the Stargate room. No actors will be on set. The winners will all have to sign a liability release prior to entering the stage.

Winners will be determined by a blind draw. Starting on Thursday morning there will be a box at the registration table. All those wishing to purchase a chance to win one of the seats on the bus for the tour of the studio will pay $2.00 per draw. A limit of two draws (attempts) at one time will be in effect so everyone has a chance.

Each person on the tour will also have the opportunity to have their photo taken on the ramp in front of the actual Stargate. Photo's are taken time permitting.

Entry is open to Gatecon 2001 ticket holders only. Tickets are still available... see the site for ticket details.

This draw is separate from the prize draw for the personal set tour to be held on the monday.

The actual set???????
Now that is something I'd reallllllly like to see! I've worked on student sets at university but they would TOTALLY pale in comparision to a proper television set.

Shame I'm not going to Gatecon :( :(

Pale in comparison is the only comparison you could possibly make.

It really is a 3 storey high fully complete SGC.

If it works in the show.. It works on the set. It's such an awesome spectacle. It does seem a little smaller on the actual set, and there are seemingly less corridors than shown (the marvels of camera angles), but in all, it is a total must see.

And I must also let everyone know also, that this is the only time the Stargate set will be publically viewable. They usually don't allow public tours of the set... so we feel very privileged that Mr Smith has given 40 people this wonderful opportunity to visit the set.

ALSO, don't forget that one lucky person will also be drawn to visit the set on the monday of Gatecon... It will be a full production day, and if the set is used for filming that day, you will get the chance to watch Stargate SG-1 being filmed.

Allan, a coupl'a questions ...

- this purchasing of two "chances" at one time ... is there going to be policing at the registration line ups, because I can foresee some major ballot stuffing going on - or is that what you want?

- is the monies collected to go to charity?

just wondering?

Basically, the way it will happen is... You join the queue, and when you get to the front, you get up to 2 picks at the barrel.

If you want another chance after that, you must join the queue at the end of the line.

Even though the Studio tour is free, unfortunately things like the transport and other associated things are not. That is what the money raised is for.
