If these latest rumors from TrekToday source "Faith" are true, then space could become a vast lonely place for Capt. Picard (Patrick Stewart) by the end of "Star Trek X."
Faith says that many of the crewmembers will be on their way to other adventures when the story wraps up, which could possibly mean the end of movies featuring the full crew from "Star Trek: The Next Generation."
In the movie, the character of Picard is compared to Admiral James T. Kirk (William Shatner) in Star Trek II and beyond -- an aging Starfleet commander who is still seeking adventure in order to maintain his spunk.
Some of that adventure will be found on Kolarin III when the Enterprise away team uses a new shuttle called "Argo" that brings with it a jeep with a mounted rear-facing phaser cannon.
Commander William Riker (Jonathan Frakes) will apparently be paying his last respects to the Enterprise-E following his marriage to Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis). After 14 years as Picard's right hand man, Riker will apparently take command of the U.S.S. Titan.
Riker will be replaced by Commander Martin Madden at the end of the film, among the "fresh-faced kids" Picard mentions of the new generation of crewmembers for the Enterprise.
Lt. Commander Worf (Michael Dorn) will be a Stafleet officer again by the beginning of the movie, more or less making just passing references to his brief stint as the Federation ambassador to Qo'nos, marking his end on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine." The Klingon will once again be able to display his hatred for Romulans that first surfaced in the early seasons of TNG, making a strong reference to his parents' massacre at the Khitomer Outpost.
That opinoin will change, however, when he watches two Romulan shops sacrifice themselves to battle Shinzon's Scimitar (the reported Picard clone).
Worf will reportedly remain on the Enterprise-E by the end of the movie.
Troi once again will provide the heart of some humorous moments in the movie. At one point, Riker protests Picard's decision to join Data (Brent Spiner) and Worf on the away team to recover B-9 (a younger version of Data). In response, Picard jokingly leaves command of the Bridge to Troi instead of Riker.
Unlike previous outings, Troi will have a stronger role in the new movie, it appears. She will apparently be able to communicate telepathically with the Reman Viceroy, who is Shinzon's second-in-command.
There will be a scene as well where Troi will have to take over piloting duties when the Scimitar manages to destroy part of the forward bridge on the Enterprise, sucking a helms officer (identified as "Bransen") out into space.
The scenes with Kate Mulgrew (Capt. Kathryn Janeway, Voyager) apparently will be done via subspace communication from Starfleet Command. Apparently, since the ship's recent return to the Alpha Quadrant, Janeway has been promoted to the rank of admiral and offers Picard some advice on a number of issues.
Faith notes that the script describes Janeway of fitting well with her rank, losing none of her "dry humour" and "down-to-earth charm."
