My dad just called me. He originally called to tell me he loved FIN. That is was an amazing ep. (He's been taping them for me while I'm in the UK.) But today he called to tell me he's decided he didn't like it because it conveyed the message that Xena had dedicated her life to working for the greater good and for righting her wrongs and to being honorable and living life with dignity and in return for this, her reward was sacrafice. He felt the message conveyed should have been that she was allowed forgiveness an allowed to live her life in peace. With peace in her heart.

Anyway, I hadn't thought of it this way and it struck me as interesting.

well, your dad isn't the only one!! although it may have been the ending set for a possible future movie!...hope they do it soon.
even though it did give some kinda closure but I still feel like something was 'hanging', and really, it's not fair to Gabrielle. after all, when she first met Xena, Xena was gonna commit suicide and Gabby convinced her to live, after all these years.....at the end she still couldn't save the one person that she loves!!
