There will be two new faces on Fox's "Dark Angel" when the new season kicks off Sept. 21.
According to Zap2it, Jensen Ackles and Kevin Durand are joining the cast of the James Cameron vehicle, playing characters that are connected to Manticore, the classified government facility whose genetic experiments produced the show's main character, Max (Jessica Alba).
Ackles, 23, is best known as Eric Brady II on "Days of Our Lives" from 1997-2000. He will play Alex, a "transgenic" from the same generation as Max, who spent his entire life at Manticore and remains loyal to the cause of the corporation. Ackles is no stranger to "Dark Angel," playing Max's genetically-engineered brother Ben in the episode "Pollo Loco" April 24.
Durand will play Joshua, a genetic experiment "taken too far" in Manticore's efforts to create the perfect solider by blending human and animal DNA.
Durand is no stranger to science fiction, playing VX in the "Andromeda" episode "Sum Of Its Parts" back in February, and also playing Zipacna in a January 2000 episode of "Stargate: SG-1." Durand also has appeared in two movies in 1999, "Mystery, Alaska" and "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me."
