I agree 100% with this one

So, what does Sarah Michelle Gellar, star of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," think about the Emmy Awards?

"This is better than the Emmys," Gellar said, holding her Teen Choice Award statuette after winning the Extraordinary Achievement Award. "And people can say that's a load of phooey or whatever words you can use here. The people here -- the teens -- this is why we make the show. We don't make it for stodgy old Emmy voters. That won't keep our show alive. The fans keep our show alive."

"Buffy" was shut out in this year's Emmy nominations, despite a heavy advertising campaign by fans and Fox Television. The series moves to UPN this fall.

You have to wonder though how much of that is sour grapes. I mean I can't imagine them winning an Emmy, any Emmy, and then saying in the acceptance speech, that they would really prefer getting the "Teen Choice Award".

Joss spent a lot of his own money this year as well. He talked in an interview about how dumb he felt (those are the words he used) about trying so hard, getting his hopes up and then getting the door slammed in his face.

It's wrong for them to be ignored by the Emmy group, especially for an episode as fine as "The Body". I don't remember a series doing as fine a job with a dramatic subject that isn't a fantasy, but something that so many people have to deal with at some point in their life. In fact, there were no elements of fantasy in that episode, except for a very brief attack that played almost no part in telling the story. I think that episode was the best show of the last season.

There has been a lot of general talk in the media that the Emmys are stuck in a rut, awarding the same shows year after year. Hopefully, one day they will take off their blinders and actually look at the other contenders from the "other" networks.

Well perhaps the Buffy crew have been left bitter by not being nominated for an Emmy.

Hopefully next season will be better for Emmys. I'd love Joss to go up there and just throw it all back in their face, that'd be really funny.

they should do something in the show where someone living in sunnydale has an emmy, and BUffy uses it to kill them, something like that... v funny :D
