I just got an email from Adele at BOBW.

Michael Shanks is the latest guest to be confirmed for BOBW on 20 - 21 October !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a coup!!! Michael is like rda, doesn't attend cons.

It's now an absolute must to go to the con.

This is the best news since the return of stargate to channel 7.

Well, I brought my tickets yesterday, or should I say Dad brought the tickets yesterday. It's one of my birthday presents.
I can't believe they raised the ticket price to $145 just because MS is going. But, hey, it'll be worth it. We also got tickets to the cocktail party.

We'll all be able to meet each other there. I'm going on the Saturday.

I've got the whole weekend booked.

They put the price up? Ah well. That hasn't changed my decision.
I'm still going for the whole weekend. From Fri night till Sun night.
Should be a great weekend. I can't believe I'm going to a convention... hubby was a little shocked. But he doesn't mind.
We might make a nice weekend of it together.

I'll have to keep an eye out for you. It's going to be a good weekend. I'm also going to the Buffy one in November with a friend who also can't believe that we are going to a convention at our age.

First time I've ever done this sort of thing. I remember about few yrs ago, when I was in the Army, I had to go and pick up a group of officers from a hotel in Sydney. I noticed all these people working in and out of the main entrance. They were all wearing sci fi costumes. I thought it must have been a fancy dress and when the officers came out and hopped in the car, I asked them what was going on. They said that there was some type of convention on. I remember thinking.... my god, these people need to get out more.

And here I am a fews years later, doing the same thing. Mind you, I won't be getting into costume. Just regular me.

It would be good to meet some of the people from here. Not often I post (normally read the messages), but I am looking forward to it.... my boss is going to kill me.

Good news everyone! My chances of going have just skyrocketed! A teacher of mine is (read: may be) going, and she has a sister in Sydney. If I went, I'd be going with her, which means one thing: free board! Sure, I'll have to sell a few internal organs to repay mum, but like a good friend of mine once said, "I don't even know what a pancreas does anyway!"
