This is a thread meant to discuss any or all of the ST holodeck characters---Moriarty, Vic Fontaine, Chaotica, 'Leonardo' on VOY, etc.

I'd be interested to hear anything you have to say on any of the characters---which you loved, which you hated, which you felt fit well into the ST universe, which left you wondering...'What were they thinking..." etc.

BTW, Maria has a great & informative thread on Vic Fontaine in the DS9 Forum. Please check it ot if you haven't already!!

Well, does the Doctor count as a holographic character? ;)

Thanks. And yes he would be my fave holographic character. He's so real and witty and he has a great voice. i listen to the James Darren CD ALL the time :D

I liked them all, with the exception of Janeway's Victorian Holo-Novel. At first I didn't care for the Irish village, but I liked the second episode and it grew on me. Leonardo Da Vinci should have been developed more. Captain Proton was silly, but pure Tom Paris and Harry Kim.

well she's Bajoran, i guess she didn't have much of a cahnce to use the holodeck.

But most Federation citizens will probably not feel so silly since they're introduced to it as children ie The adventures of Flotter.

I agree with you about Fair Haven, i guess it takes getting used to, still don't like Micheal Sullivan much though.

Captain Proton was silly, but pure Tom Paris and Harry Kim.

LOL Janeway from Shattered: "i don't think Mr. Paris's tastes are very sophisticated" :D

For the best holographic program, what about the one Quark obtained for his holosuites in "Doctor Bashir, I presume?" DS9, a fantasy called Vulcan Love Slave Part II: The Revenge.?

Yeah, it was like, "Is this the best you can do??"

Not exactly the most interesting use of the holodeck.

Don't most of the holodeck programs seem to be based on the past? Sherlock Holmes on TNG, Shakespeare programs on TNG, Bashir as a kind of James Bond, Tom Paris' Captain Proton programs and his 'hot rod' program, Janway's Leonardo and Gothic novel, Bashir and O'Brien's war re-enactments, etc, etc...

Why are these people so nostalgic? LOL :D

well i am glad we all agree on fairhaven

i liked Bashir's little thing - "Our Man Bashir" where all his characters were turned into the DS9 crew -- however, that doesn't answer the question --

i like Moriarty from TNG -- Data's fascination w/ Sherlock Holmes got me started reading the stories --- and i've read quite a few --

Moriarty was a wonderful character -- esp when the holodeck computer was told to produce a character that could 'beat Data' -- oops - Dr. goofed there ---- hehe

I loved Neelix's ickle beach place
