In one episode (and maybe more) Jack looked like he was wearing Cadadian forces fatigues, which made sense because the show is filmed in Canada (I think). Am I right on that one?

US vrs Canadanain uniforms

We two countries share a lot of uniform styles, we just don't always wear them at the same time. Our Air Force went to the woodland camo first then back to OD then back to camo. I think Canada just made one change.

Both of us wear pretty much the same BDU pattern. Ya know... it gets really hard to tell after awhile... <sigh>...

Gee, all this time I thought we were the same country. I mean isn't canada a suburb of new york?;)

:canadian friends quietly take Gemmy aside and smack on the back of the head:

Err.... maybe not....

Not Montreal. They can't understand our cabbies.

Oh they can be clear enough when they want their fares, ah?;)

Same with cabbies over here! money is the only thing they understand wave a fiver and they ignore you but wave a tenner and suddenly they can speak the Queens English with a blue blooded accent!:smile:

Cabbies

Certainly not out here in the NorthWest [US or Canada] as most of us don't speak Farshi. Money always works.

shame i haven't got a whole lotta cash really:sigh: oh well:smile:

Question --

okay -- the AF officers' hats -- the gold stuff on the brim (no, i don't know what it's called - sorry) -- at which rank does one get the gold stuff??

asking b/c Major Samuels in COTG has gold stuff on his hat (doesn't this sound truly technical?) --

don't recall seeing any of our other fave SGC'ers wearing hats tho w/ the dress uniform ---- but -- just wanted to know ----

Hat ornimentation

When you reach senior officer status [Major or Above] in all of the services, your requried to add a 'wreath' to your service dress cap. In the Air Force, it's more silver lightning-bolt-ish. In the Army, if's more like gold laurel leaves. [USAF = silver and blue, US Army = gold and green].

Since this is the first time we've seen Sam since her promotion to Major, her dress cap hasn't been seen.

Forgot to mention...

The nickname for this additions to the service caps are 'scrambled eggs', becasue, from a distance with the gold one, they tend to resemble that...
