The following info comes from Treknews.com:

Jeffrey Combs in Fifth Enterprise Episode
Posted Saturday, August 18, 2001 by Benjamin
Jeffrey Combs told his official fan club the Star Trek producers asked him to be in the upcoming fifth episode of Enterprise
"Star Trek: Enterprise called and asked if I would appear in episode 5 of the new series," says Combs. "I was reticent at first, but ultimately my curiosity got the better of me!"
The actor who formerly played Weyoun and Brunt in Deep Space Nine describes what alien he will playing this time. "I'll be playing an Andorian," he said. "They were a race introduced in The Original Series, but not utilized very much. They're blue with white hair and antennae and an edge. They despise Vulcans."
The fifth episode is being written by co-creators Rick Berman and Brannon Braga, with no other details being released regarding the actual episode.
Thanks to Nicole Rebsher who sent in these details over to TrekToday.

oops, Neo...

is this thread okay as is or does it belong in 'Rumor or Fact'?

sorry if it causes any inconvenience..

What do you think about the Andorians appearing in 'Enterprise' Little Star?

I guess that as a "founding member" of the Federation, they were one of the few alien races that they could legitimately use on 'Enterprise'. They are a little old-fashioned in Science Fiction terms though with their antennae, but the fact that they have married units of four individuals could make them interesting. You started a thread called 'TOS species to bring back' and I remember discussing this then.

What I think would be good, is if 'Enterprise' could redefine them, in the same way that 'The Next Generation' did Klingons, and give them some history, culture, language and character. They could do this safely because the Andorians have hardly ever been seen in Star Trek.

I was thinkng the same thing as I read the first sentence of your post above! I would definitely like to see strong development along the lines of what TNG did for Klingons.

There are a lot of possibilities, because as you mentioned, the Andorians haven't been developed in depth, so they could introduce new aspects without necessarily going against canon.

ST has taken liberties in the past with regards to 'tweaking' the physical appearance of aliens, so I wonder what they have planned for the Andorians. Obviously, their 'look' needs to be updated---what was acceptable on TOS would just be too cheesy for a series made in 2001. (hehe--don't know what they'll do about the antennae!)

So Andorians on 'Enterprise'? Yeah, build some culture & history, & I'll be all for it!!

I've started a thread ('Andorians') in this forum which just contains some info on Andorians & their society.

Anyone please feel free to add additional info.:rolly2:

Jeffrey Combs speaks...

Getting into Andorian make-up proved a challenge for the actor [Jeffery Combs], who is used to wearing rubber to assume the roles of Vorta and Ferengi. "[...] It was more demanding," he said. "I'm used to the constrictions of the make-up, but this one had hair, wig, make-up, prosthetics, but there were also mechanics involved to move the antenna. So I had to be hocked up to a radio operated control and I had that going on as well. I could hear them moving - 'zoooom - zooooooom.' So that affected your concentration, but not that much."

The actor was able to reveal a little about the character he plays. "His name is Shra'an, you could call him a terrorist," he said. "We believe that the Vulcans have been spying on us, so we have something to do about this. And I leave it to you to find out whether or not we are right or not."

Viewers were given warning that all may not be as it first appears on screen. "I can't give away too much," said Combs. "You may think I'm a bad guy, but I'm justified."

mmmmmm do u reckon he is a terrorist
