I was reading a story on the Heliopolis Website and there was this poem on it.


Stars by Sara Teasdale



All alone in the night.
On a dark hill with the pines around me
Spicy and still
And a heaven full of stars over my head
White and Topaz
With misty red
Myriads with beating hearts of fire
That aeons cannot vex or tire
Up, the dome of heaven like a great hill
I watch them marching
Stately and still
And i know that i am honoured to be witness of this great
majesty



I think it suits Stargate perfectly and i thought maybe we could set up a thread with people posting poems about stars or something that reminds them of Stargate

Personally i think this is an amazing poem, what do you think?

My first fanfic however does have the "FRIENDS" themetune altered to suit Stargate:

"So no one told you life was going to be this way

You learnt your dad’s a host
System Lords took your wife away.
The Asgard told you there’d be days like these
(Dum du-dum)
But you didn’t know it would be so tuff
And one day you’re bound to bring home a disease.

When the replicators over run.
I’ll be there for you,
When you’re shot with a zat gun
I’ll be there for you, cos you’re there for me toooooooo."

Nice poem Jessa...I do have some nice poems but none that really make me think of Stargate...so I think I will stay out of this one.

And Nic that Friends/Stargate theme tune still makes me laugh

Oh! I have my Stargate poems. I can't rescue them from the depths of the Fan Fic section on my poems thread. ( much non- SG, therefore unrelated) I'll get them off my disc instead.

Poems that make me think of Stargate? Hmmm, there's going to be something. I just can't remember.

I've been trying to get SG lines to the 'Friends' theme for ages. Those are great!

That poem from Heliopolis is good. What's the name of the fic you got it from Jessa?

I'd like to read it.
