Famous (or not) faces in Blake's 7

I thought this would be worthy of a new thread. Anyone have any
nominations for "obscure" or indeed realistically well-known
faces to have appeared in Blake's Seven?

Here are some that spring to mind:

As noted, "Roy" from Eastenders was son of the creator of Orac,
in I believe Deliverance, on a mercy mission to get unfeasibly
large and noisy pacemaker batteries to his father.

I'm sure a VERY young "Jacko from Brushstrokes" appeared in the
episode "Shadow".

Of course, who can forget Roy Kinnear as Keiller in the episode Gold?

Most of those are probably best known for Blakes Seven, but Glynis Barber had more success with 'Dempsey and Makespiece'.

Paul Darrow in voice-over shocker

A bit off-topic but I noticed it sounds like Paul Darrow (aka Avon)
is currently doing a voice-over on Channel 4, for The ShawShank
(sp?) Redemption promo ad. Probably couldn't resist the word "Redemption"!



I know that Josette Simon (Dayna) was in a fairly steamy play on (I
think) BBC2, although I didn't see this. She appeared nude so there
must have been a couple of points worth noting...

Also, Sally Knyvette (Jenna) played a major character in "Emmerdale"
for many years.

I also remember being very surprised to see Jan Chappel (Cally) in
a Vauxhall advert many years ago.

Didn't Jacqueline Pearce (Servalan) play "T-Bag the witch" in a kids
TV program too???

Janet Lee Price - Klyn in Blake, not well known as an actress but she is Paul Darrow's wife.

A bit off topic but I did sort of know Michael Keating (Vila).
He lived near me when I was a kid (when the show was airing. The dad of my best friend was a vicar and Michael was a regular at his church, met him a few times when I was over her house. He even sat next to me and my mum at the circus one time! (he was there with his kids) I was only about 8 or 9 tho, lol.

The closest I can personally come to that is "rubbish", a (not) famous face (not) in Blake's 7.

There was a guy who used to work in an off-licence in Bournemouth who looked like Vila. When I was in jovial mood one day I made a comment about this, he didn't look too happy because it was apparently not the first time he had been told so!

Prior to "B7" both GARETH "BLAKE" THOMAS and JACQUELINE "SERVALAN" PEARCE both were in a classic BBC DICKENS seriel "DAVID COPPERFIELD". Gareth played Mr. Murdstone and Jacqueline played Rose!

Jacqueline also played in two HAMMER HORROR films. ("THE REPTILE/PLAGUE OF ZOMBIES" as ANNA - 1965/66 - filmed back to back so used the same sets for both movies, supposedly set in Cornwall!)

ROBERT BEATTY - BRAN FOSTER in "THE WAY BACK" played in various films - "SAN DEMETRIO LONDON" (WWII war film, "WHERE EAGLES DARE", with Richard Burton & Clint Eastwood!)

JOHN SAVIDENT - SAYMOR in "TRIAL" and EGRORIAN in "ORBIT" (Has a small scene in the "BATTLE OF BRITAIN" movie - now a regular in Coronation Street).

DEREK FARR - voice of ORAC/creator of ORAC - ENSOR in "ORAC" (Had a long career in movies before "B7" - was in - "THE DAMBUSTERS"!)

99.9% of the guest stars have been in DR. WHO (PAUL - twice "THE SILURIANS/TIMELASH" and JACQUELINE - once "THE TWO DOCTORS"!)

DAVID COLLINGS - DEVA in "BLAKE" - was in DR. WHO ("ROBOTS OF DEATH" as Chief Mover Poul, "MAWDRYN UNDEAD" as Mawdryn, "REVENGE OF THE CYBERMEN" as Vorus). "UFO" as Daniel Clarke. "SHAPPHIRE & STEEL" as Silver. Musical film "SCROOGE" as Bob Crachit. etc.

ROY BOYD - ZUKAN in "WARLORD" - was in DR. WHO ("HAND OF FEAR"). "THE NEW AVENGERS" as a technician on the target range in, the episode "TARGET". A "TARDIS" is seen being blown up in that episode and it, also had DEEP ROY in it, (he played a DECIMA in "THE WEB" and KLUTE in "GAMBIT" - not forgetting the DR. WHO story (TALONS OF WENG-CHIANG as Mr. Sin - co-incidentally directed by DAVID MALONEY - producer on "B7" Seasons 1 to 3!)
