l have heard that michael shanks will be in starcrossed in andromeda on sept 10th on sky one at 8pm. can anyone
look in a uk cable guide and corfirm for me.

Yes I can confirm for you that my ntl cable guide has listed the episode called Starcrossed for September 10th.

sky One don't generally mess too much with the schedules, so it will probably show on that date.

;)

MS

The show was okay, but Mike was ... uh ... *nice*:p

LOL..... I take it that you're not exactly an Andromeda fan Rowan?

Personally I find the show irritating and the characters totally unbelievable and boring. I still see Kevin Sorbo as Hercules and always will I think. He's just exhanged one tight fitting costume for another to my mind.

Still I suppose it will be a treat for all UK MS fans.....

I can just see Pamie now, getting hot and bothered and drooling all over the TV set. Do I need to send out a UK flood alert warning do you think?

 ;)

Oh Anni....how well you know me!!!!!;) :rolly2:

Andromedia

IMHO, I don't think they're living up to the potential of the show. Could very well be a combo of writers, acting, directing, ehat-all... but after SG-1, Farscape and my SF TV index show, Babylon-5, it just doesn't cut it.

I'll be honest, I watched it for Michael. And to see how Andromedia pulled off 'swiping' the 'electronic love scene' that was originally done in the first Star Trek movie between the Deltan Lieutenant Ilia and Cmdr. Willard Decker.

No digs for those who like it. Each their own. I doubt there are a lot of folks out there who regularly tune into the History Channel's 'Special Operations' or combat programs as much as Husband and I do.

Or the off the wall space science stuff.

;)

I agree that it's quite a bit shoddy and unconvincing compared to those other shows..... tacky is word that leaps to mind. But like you it's just my opinion and if folk want to watch it and become fans.... hey.. whatever... their choice.

As you say, we all watch different shows and for different reasons. I watch a lot of the History Channel's military stuff too, from the POV of all wars. My eldest son who I share a house with is a military history buff, both ancient and modern, although he likes the WW2 era stuff the best. I tend towards the more recent stuff. We also watch the science programmes which I find fascinating. Those shows and Discovery Channe are the reasons I actually take the full cable package in the UK.

I will probably watch the Andromeda episode because everyone has talked about it so much I confess that I am curious.

it's not as bad as all that :D Great idea originally, great crew, wonderful characters. And yes some of the plots are a little 'tacky' and unoriginal, but others more than make up for it. :D

So did anyone watch this tonight?

Well I did and I have to say that MS looked really *nice*

Im not really into Andromeda but it was ok and I thought MS did a good job in it...but I don't think I would watch it again:D

you got to figure this is well worth a second look if not just to stare at the man, and my god he can turn on the charm big time, you tell me that you would not be drawn into those blue eyes, didn't like the outfit though :) but him he is great :)

Yeah poor girl!!!

He sure was nice:rolly2:

I don't particularly like MS, but I admit that he is a good looking boy.... However, I still can't get to grips with Andromeda.... it's.....well........boring. I have actually fallen to sleep to this show and I have never fallen asleep when Stargate was on, even if the episode sucked! There is just something about the characters in Andromeda which remind me of cardboard cutouts somehow. Unconvincing.

As for poor MS's love interest (Rommie) I didn't like Lexa Doig in the New Professionals, and she doesn't impress me in Andromeda. She looks rather fake, too much uplift and lip gloss..... sort of like an Andromedan version of Anise...... she's also a very wooden sort of actress.

hee hee, telling it like it is Anni eh? ;)

Must admit though...i agree with ya Anni, i think the program is so false...i watched it the first couple of times but i got so bored with it that i just didn't want to watch it..gimme Stargate and X-files anyday! :D ;) :)
