Ya me too :D

but I think we should start a thread of what we think we might get in season 6 or what we want, what do you think?

sounds good to me! i think a lot of season six is going to be wrapping up old story lines and setting up for the movie:cool:

they are supposed to be doing a big screen movie after the end of filming for the sixth season. should be cool!

Season Six and then what?

I've heard about the movie, but is Season 6 meant to be the last?

Yup, season 6 is the last and it builds up to the feature film following it

There is LOTS of scope for plot lines, (see the longer thread in this forum), but there is also plenty of scope for dodgy plots.

Just look at X-Files and ST:TNG for mixing movies and serialised episodes. ;)

I think the best plots are the ones which totally shake-up everything you think/thought you knew about the people, places, technologies, geologies, artefacts etc., whilst still being totally credible, consistent with all previous development and sensible.

None of this "here's XXX who/which has been here the whole time but never mentioned in the whole 5 series" type things.

Yeah I think the 6th series will wrap up most the loose threads.
Then the film will probably have it's own story.
(Such as the X-file movie. Which was based on the basic theme of the show, but would appeal and be understood by cinema-goers who never watched the show.)

I think that is one of the hardest parts of movies based on or extrapolated from serialised episodes, and that is working out the target audience.

How much do you assume that the audience will know about the cast/characters and background plots. It is similar to the problem of plain movie sequels, but to a much greater extent.

i'm really looking forward to the movie. But it will probably be like the X files one. Yes in a way it could be understood by people who had never watched it but there were also a lot of references to the season that was prior to it. Being in the UK we got the movie before the season aired! It was very confusing. Then when the season started it had references to stuff in the movie which we had watched almost a year earlier. And for people who hadnt seen the movie probably made things more puzzling.
If the movie is the "end" and it releases before season 6 here then we will get to see what happens beforehand:mad:

If the movie comes before the season then I'm not going to go to the cinema and watch it. Ok so I might put myself in hospital trying to stop myself going but it'll come out on video and I can watch it then.

Maddening Chronology

Perhaps the most maddening part about SG1 is keeping seasons straight. Our Fox station is just now running what I think is S4, but only episodes now and then (I keep writing them hot letters). Those in the UK, Canada, and those with Showtime are in some season ahead, but I don't know where.

If I've just seen the episode called "Watergate" -- where am I?

Watergate = season 4, episode 7 if you believe region 2 DVDs.

In UK, satellite/cable is showing season 5, (roughly 8 episodes in), terrestrial TV is in series 3, about the number of episodes!

It is confusing. I am currently watching season 5 on UK satellite, season 2 re runs on satellite, season 3 (i think) on terrestial (c4) and season 4 as they come out on dvd. I have to wrack my brains every episode to work out things like is this before apophis died? etc.
I admit i did cheat by watching the x files movie as soon as it came out but there was also a lot of confusion about when it fitted into the timeline of the series and people saying it was totally seperate. Wasnt till I'd seen it I realised different, lol.
And at the time I dont think I had satellite so I hadnt even seen the previous series:dead:

WOW!

For an unseen season there are an awful lot of posts! HE he, and I just added to it! Oh well! Long timne before I see this season (Maddeningly only on season 3!) :)
