Could there be a new eccentric British face on Buffy to make up for Giles’ taking up a lower profile? Marti Noxon lightheartedly called on British comedian Eddie Izzard to appear on Buffy in an interview with zap2it.com this week.

‘Eddie Izzard. Please! Come do our show!’ said Noxon.

‘He’s amazing. If he ever would deign to visit our universe, we would be glad,’ she explained, adding ‘He's dangerous.’

Too true. Whether Izzard's off-the-wall surrealist comedy, and periodic cross-dressing would strike a chord with many in America is an interesting question. He does have an acting history, though, with supporting roles in films like ‘Velvet Goldmine’, ‘The Avengers’, and, appropriately ‘Shadow of the Vampire’.

‘He sat next to Anthony Stewart Head on a plane,’ said Noxon. ‘I think Tony did say, “You should come and be on the show!†We all wish that would happen.’

When asked if there were plans to film any of ‘Buffy’ in Britain, (a logical question given the proliferation of British characters), Noxon downplayed the idea.

‘No. This has not been discussed, but who knows? It would be just wonderful if we could do it. It would be amazing. We'll just take one country at a time.’

Eddie Izzard on Buffy?!?! Could it really happen?!?!

wow, Eddie Izzard on Buffy, that would be surreal and fantastic

Hope this turns from possibility to reality... he'd make a great vamp dont ya think.... :D

he was one of the disco baddies on Mystery Men. LOL
I agree he would make a fantastic vampire. It would be soooo
funny!!! Hmm the first semi cross dressing vampire!!!!

There must be a gay vamp out there...hope he gets eliminated, I don't think I could handle a camp vamp :D.

I don't think he's gay he just likes dressing up in womens boots with lipstick etc...and he's not particularly camp but i think a camp vampire would be hilarious. How can you act camp whilst trying to fight. I'm guessingthey would have to fight Xander in a similar way to Harmony. Or they could play them gay and the person could like Xander or Spike or someone that would be really funny. Xander trying to squirming uncomfortably. LOL

Or maybe they would have the power to make anyone gay at a touch...and as they touched Willow she turned straight again.

That would be funnyLOL. :laugh2:
Hey that would mean that there's only Spike left if Xander gets married. Oh you could have Spike after the break up with Buffy to go with Willow when she's evil!!!!

Hey look you just turned Willow straight with a gay vampires touch. Now compared to that mine looks perfectly fine.
Anyway people don't stay single for long on Buffy and who else is there. Johnathan. well thats less likely than Spike i'm afraid.

Who else is there? What about the other 100's of millions of men in the world?

Eddie Izzard's Films

Please keep Eddie Izzard out of Buffy. Has no one else noticed that he's a great - possibly the greatest - standup, but is only in rubbish films? I'm an Avengers fan from 'way back, but the film was almost too embarrassing to watch. Probably not Mr Izzard's fault, but let's not take any risks with Buffy.

I don't think he's as funny as Eddie Izzard. Billy Connoly is good though. Oh and I just saw the Rocky Horror show again last night. Tim Curry as a Dr Frank n Furter the "Sweet Transvestite from Transexuall Transylvania" Cracks me up!!!:rolly2:

Mr Izzard says he thinks of himself as a lesbian. Since that makes him a man who is attracted to women, you decide for yourself if he is gay. It's not a simple world out there.

The greatest? Have you seen one of Joe Pasquales shows?

I only said possibly. De gustibus non est disputandum. Or, there's no arguing about taste.

i think he just likes putting a new slant on the world around him. He likes to take the audience from something completely ordinary and and introduce the surreal within it.

I absolutely love Eddie Izzard and seeing him in Buffy would be hilarious but probably wouldnt fit unfort.
Ive seen Joe Pasquale live and although he was very funny especially when hes spontaneous in front of a live audience, i dont think he can beat Eddie Izzard. My mum has all Eddies videos and I still laugh even when I know the punch line. No other comedian has ever made me fall off my chair from laughing so hard. Glorious was definitely his best tour so far...
But back to Buffy hmmm no he really wouldnt fit in Buffy but I heard theyve done a singing episode so anythings possible!

you never know, I could see him just playing it for laughs, completely camping it up as a vampire....

PS any chance you could turn down the size of the font on your signature a bit, it's a bit big!
