Read this what do people think ????????????
I was just reading how T'Pol will attempt to explore her emotional side. Didn't think much about it at first, but now I'm wondering if this is an insult to Spock. See, TOS is way before my time, and thanks to the scifi channel I get to enjoy this wonderfull series. Now the first thing I noticed was how "emotional" Spock seemed. Well, before watching the show all I knew of Spock was Star Trek 1-6 and the TNG ep. So in other words I have only seen Spock as a very unemotional Vulcan who is very strict to stay in line with Vulcan ways. I'm not saying his character is bad on TOS, quite the other way around actually. It trully showed how Gene and Nimoy evolved what it is to be Vulcan. Most of the time Spock is without emotion, but sometimes I do notice he acts in a way that he never did in the movies. Anyway, back to my point.
Spock's character went from being more emotional to less. He evolved his character by being more "Vulcan like" as we know it today. Hence, Tuvok and his attitude. Perfectly normal to us that he is an extremely strict and unemotional Vulcan. Thanks to Spock and character development, we know that's just how Vulcans are.
Now let's go to T'Pol. If I'm reading this right she will evolve in a backwards manner. She will go from strict Vulcan to more emotional Vulcan. So she is 65 years old, and being exposed to the ENT crew will make her want to explore her emotional side. Hmm, Spock never did! Spock was exposed to probably the most emotional humans of the all! Bones, Scotty, Kirk! So now T'Pol is going sorta backwards. I'm assuming we will see her go from strict, to emotional, then back to strict again. We can't have an emotional Vulcan at the end of the series now can we?
Maybe posting "insult" was a little harsh. However, Nimoy is reponsible for how we know Vulcans today. Personally I think Berman is doing this just so we can see some intimate moments between T'Pol and a another crew member. It's just an excuse to have some love scene with the hot babe of the show. Much like Kim having a dream about 7, they just HAD to have some kind of heated moment with that fine looking Jeri Ryan didn't they?
I can see it now, Bakula and T'Pol. She claims that she wants to kiss Bakula out of pure scientific curiosity or some crap. I think it woud be far more interesting to see the Klingon show Sato how Klingons really get it on. Time to put sickbay to good use
