Okay, I'm writing this before I see it myself, but has anyone seen the anime movie Goku 1?

The description I read on it sounds like it isn't that bad. If it turns out to be good, I think I'll write up a review thing for it?

Any objections? Maybe we could do that for a bunch of movies, that way we can cull the good anime from the bad, and get people into other stuff they may not have heard of.

That's actually what it's called, but for some reason, everytime they play it, they call it Goku 1. Maybe it is part of a series?

Um, I'd tell you, but I forgot. Oops. I'll watch it again and tell ya... maybe, if I don't get too excited about DBZ today

I'm curious about what this movie is about...

I'm also curious to see how many people will think this is a DBZ movie...

I know It's now one of the 13 DBZ movies unless it's the lost movie. but I think I might be a side story of of some sort

Well, first off.... it is just Goku, not Son Goku, so that *might* tip some of the more perceptive people that it isn't DBZ related. Besides, look at its rating... no DBZ movie would be R or MA, now would it :D?

Okay, about the movie:

Goku Kusangi is a private eye, and also a former police officer. Four former partners from the force have killed themselves in the last 6 months, and Goku wants to know why. He looks up Yoko, a love interest, and also a cop, for answers.

Goku learns that Yoko and the 4 dead officers were on a special unit set up to watch the night club owner Hokuru, who in reality is a big-time weapons dealer. Goku and Yoko try to bring Hokuru down, but fail due to his peacock-tailed female. She has the ability to mesmerise people, and is the cause of the death of the entire special until watching Hokuru (kills indirectly... the all committed suicide).

Peacock mesmerizes Goku, but he realises what is going on, and cuts out his left eye to break himself from her spell. While doing so, however, he drives off of a bridge. He wakes up in a mysterious lab, only to be told by a disembodied voice that his eye has been replaced with a computer enhanced eye. This new eye can communicate with any other computer on the planet, and control them thusly. Along with this new eye, Goku is also given a new weapon, reminiscent of Gokou's (DBZ) extendo-rod (only silver).

With his new toys, Goku decides to go and take care of Hokuru. I don't want to spoil the end, so I'll leave off here... You'll have to watch and see the fate of Goku, Yoko, and Hokuru for yourselves.

This *is* a good movie. It's relatively short (45 minutes or so). There is nudity (Peacock woman is nekkid, Yoko gets nekkid, and Hokuru runs a strip joint... what do you expect?) and foul language, mostly at the end. It is rated R/TV-MA, so keep the little kiddies out of the room.

no, he wears a blue suit, and has dark hair.

it looks like he is wearing pants, tie, and jacket only.

I liked part 1, so I'd like to see part 2.

They need to play it on cable, tho. they only play like 5 movies, and never at a time I can catch them at. they only play Goku 1, Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, Queen bee, and one other one that I can't think of the name for.
