Does anyone have or know where I can find the same starchart in the series hammond uses in the control room. I drew a replica of the lines and circles and filled in what planets I could but I don't have the whole thing. It also shows where the glyphs are and what planet they represent too.

Would you or anyone else for that matter want me to scan my rough replica of it?

I would like to see what you made, please.

Sorry, I can't help with an 'official' one. Am I right in thinking there isn't much Stargate merchandise of this kind about. Someone else wanted a 'Zat' gun and couldn't find one, and they have only just now produced a companion book to the series (and it only covers seasons 1 & 2, and is quite thin.)

Any other series this big, would have models of all the ships and weapons, books with maps and geography of the planets; and it would have had them years ago.

Well, you could argue that perhaps SG-1 is the better for not having had the market-place flooded with potentially poor quality tie-in products.

Not thinking of any sort of dancing Jar-Jar Binks at all here....

 They made a dancing Jar-Jar Binks? May the gods preserve us from a Dancing Teal'c or a Dancing Apophis then!!

I know what Dave means though, Star Trek have produced many things such as ship's schematics etc over the years and they aren't the usual dross associated with TV shows or movies. It might be nice if Stargate SG1 did the same.

Since I also own many of the aforementioned ST:TNG (etc.) plans, encyclopaedia, technical manuals, both electronic and paper, I can vouch for the serious nature and high quality of them.

However, they are produced by the people behind the technical detail and production designs of the show, so it would need people like that from SG-1 to be prepared to do such work - and not least find decent explanations for the numerous anomolies!

I have the Star Trek things too, but I also just read about the Harry Potter interactive candy, hand held video games, the commemorative coke cans, Pokemon-syle trading cards, personal radios, role-playing games, voice-changing devices, orange juice, breakfast cereal, construction kits, video consoles, metallic bookends and trivia games.

P'Teppic has a valid point. I guess we can be thankful they left Stargate SG-1 alone.

I think the real thing is that whoever makes the movies (in particular, comapred to TV) is spending something like 300-500 million dollars. And they want it all back with interest.

And despite the fact the cinema release will probably break box-office records (at least in the UK), they just want MORE MORE MORE money.

So they are prepared to sanction and approve pretty much ANY method of utilising the franchise by selling products with some sort of logo or tie-in.

"Tomb Raider" bucket and spade for your own excavations??
"Nutty Proffessor" chocolate/candy, specially high calorie, so you too can swell to the size of an elephant??
[and my personal favourite that never was...]
"Gone In 60 Seconds" novelty condoms, for the inadequate lover??
