Gatecon Is Still On

Hi All,

Just wanted to let you all know that Gatecon is DEFINITELY on.

We still have a full lineup of guests, and only had a couple of cancellations from attendees.

We are all confident that Gatecon will still be a great convention despite the happenings of te last few days.

It would have been letting the terrorists win if it hadn't gone ahead, wouldn't it?

I have just checked my flights which are with American Airlines to Dallas and then on to Vancouver the next day and up to the present American carriers are the only carriers being allowed to resume transatlantic flights and they have told me that they plan to resume as full a service as possible on the 18th of September. Luckily Dallas is one of the airports who have met the security regulations imposed by the FAA and is open.

So I will be there...... The only caveat I put on my arrival is that if there are Americans in the check in queue at Gatwick who desperately need to get home, I will step aside and give them my reservation, so I could possibly be a day or so late. However I will call the hotel and let them know.

I think if we're being honest Allen..... we NEED the diversion of something like Gatecon desperately. As it is, it looks as though 500 British people are also missing believed dead in this horror. People who worked in the WTC. There were also British service personnel in the Pentagon, although I currently don't know if any of them have perished. So it has touched us directly.

I'll look forward to seeing everyone there.

Wonderful!! Now I really look forward to seeing all of you (or as many as I can). I wasn't directly effected, but I'm really touched by the outpouring of symapathy, support and love from all around the world!
