One of my friends read the DBZ books when she was little. Seeing as I have only got into DBZ recently, does anyone know who wrote these books and where I could get them from? I'm so sick of having to ask my mate who all these baddies she keeps talking about are. If anyone has a 'potted history' of DBZ or know some sites, plz tell, cos I think I started watching just before the androids came. In fact, the first episode i remember watching is the one where Goku and Piccolo have to take driving lessons, and they save a bus froim fallling off a cliff. I may not have the details correct...this was on Cartoon Network about 4/5 months ago, I think
 
I've not read the books or manga (comic books), so I can't help you there. Your friend might be refering to the manga, which was written by Akira Toriyama.

If you want some good websites to catch-up on prior DBZ, look in the DBZ Sites thread. Planet Namek is good, as is the Ulatimate DBZ Info Site.
 
i have 3 comics! i got em from local book shops there just there and i bought em!! i got the saiyan saga! ep 1&2 and buu saga 3! then
 
I wonder how many manga there are. DBZ is at least 300 episodes long, so there has to be a *lot* of manga.
 
Yay! I found a brill ep guide today, so I'm a little more clued-up now! Also foun som great sites, I'll post 'em somewhere!
 
The books your refering to are the manga, the origional Japanese comic book series that the anime was based on. It ended many years ago, and is currently being reprinted/translated by VIZ comics. VIZ is putting out the series in individual issues, and collections in graphic novel form.

Well, i got it from the avatar sectoin on that site i PM'd to you, it's not ssj 5 (i think) as far as i know, its vegeta and trunks (well i assume so) cos it's called vegetunks

The first one is literally just called "Dragonball Graphic Novel #1"
 
Doh! I think I must have misunderstood what you were saying about viz... I thought you meant dbz was being searielised in the viz magazines themselves...d'oh. Does anyone know of anywhere i night be able to buy theses reprints? I tried looking for cimic book shops near where i am living at the mo, but there sint any
