Hello fellow fans,
Yesterday, the day dawned slightly cloudy and cool; I drove to the Best Western Inn in Richmond with an eager gleam in my eye and fury for anyone getting in my way on the highway. Found lynx, shadowwalker, and shortea, retrieved my "Turkey" box lunch, got my bus ticket and hopped on Bus #1. And we were off on an 8 hour City Tour!
The first stop was the ever beautiful Queen Elizabeth park, the location of the dome and gardens seen in "Gamekeeper". The second stop was Vanier Park, the location of the Gordon Southam Observatory which was featured in "1969" and the Vancouver Planetarium which has the auditorium where Carter had her lecture in "The Prodigy".
Next, we went downtown to the Vancouver Art Gallery which was substituting for aspects of Washington DC from "Foothold" and "Secrets". We had our box lunch at the Plaza of Nations where we ran into the on-location shoot of the new NBC cop show "Undercover". But after the shoot they let us look at the Plaza and the BC Pavilion which were featured in "Bane" and "2010".
The next stop was Simon Fraser University for the park area and Horizon's restaurant which were seen in "Upgrades". We had a drive-by of the buildings that were supposed to be "Tollana" in "Pretense".
The finale was at Bridge Studios where we got to meet Dan Shea (Sgt Siler), Amanda Tapping and Don S. Davis!!!!! The highlight of the tour! They were gracious and signed autographs and allowed us to take pictures. RDA and Chris Judge were off in the distance near the Studio building. I think we (4 bus loads of rabid Stargate fans) scared them off!!???!!!!
I didn't go to Sekh's party, so someone else will have to report on that!
And on to Day 2...... tonight is the Cocktail Party. Gotta dust off my Armani.....
