Tails

I've gotten slack for this,and I've also gotten "Good Point" for this observation.....

Trunks doesn't have a tail.

First, I said this a loooooong time ago, so leave me alone, and second, I still haven't heard a good reason WHY he doesn't have a tail.

Since Vegeta is his father, and recognizes Trunks as his son (even if he doens't like him at first), don't you think he would have demanded Bulma let trunks keep his tail? Since it is a source of great strength, I don't see Vegeta condoning it's removal.

I've theorized that maybe it was cut off because of the frequeny that earth gets full moons (we don't want a repeat of Gohan again). I've heard nothing to prove or deny my ideas. Anyone know why for *sure* he doens't have a tail?

Every single Saya-jin, and Saya-jin/human hybrid, was born with a tail. They know from their experiences with Goku and Gohan just how much trouble tails can cause. ChiChi knew this, so it's no real mystery why Goten's was removed.

As for Trunks, you can't overestimate his relationship with his father. Vegeta didn't like the boy, plane and simple. It isn't untill well into the Buu saga that Vegeta even admits he loves his "family" at all, and even then it's only because he's about to die. Yes, Vegeta recognizes Trunks as his son...but he also recognizes that he never wanted a son, and Trunks was just an accident he never wanted to happen.

...add to this the fact that Vegeta had just previously been outclassed and shown up by the future version of Trunks. Vegeta knew from that what kind of potental the boy had, and allowing Trunks to keep his tail would just make Trunks able to atain power ten times what he normally could. Vegeta's pride would never allow him to let someone keep such a sizeable advantage over him.

If Vegeta shows no love for Trunks until the Buu Saga, why is it that when Cell blasts a hole through trunks in the cell games, that Vegeta goes off on one, and keeps blasting Cell over and over again? Also, at that time, he's almost sentimental, going on about 'my son' and blaming Goku for what happens (although it's no big surprise that Vegeta would blame Goku.)

Vegeta going at Cell had nothing to do with Trunks(that whole monolouge was a dub mess up). Vegeta was furious with himself for improving so very much yet still being helpless against Cell. It was out of that rage that he went for Cell.

If seeing Trunks die did anything at all to motivate Vegeta, it was the idea of Cell killing yet another Saya-jin warrior like it was nothing...kind of a "race disgraceing" thing, not a "fatherly" thing.

Trunks did have a tail..every saiyan is born with a tail. Vegeta had his removed so why wouldn't he remove his son's?

Vegeta's tail was forcefully cut off by Yagerobi towards the end of the Saya-jin saga.

it wasn't removed permanently when yajirobe cut it off..tails grow back they have to be removed surgically. Vegeta had his removed after the saiyan saga because he saw the weakness in it.

vegeta's "true" tail was off before him and nappa came to earth because when someone grabed his tail it would hurt really bad so they replaced the real tail with some sort of fake one that does the same when they see a full moon.
