How will the terrorist attacks affect the show?

Do you think the terrorist attacks will be included in the show or will they ignore it? I hope they don't use it as an excuse to get rid of Maj. Davis!

That's what I was wondering!

The problem for all TV series is going back to find the references to the Pentagon or New York and determining whether or not they are overtly offensive.

I think keeping Maj. Davis in shows that government is still working. I would tone down any overtly negative government themes (if one can find any) and remove any references and stock footage of the Pentagon for unaired episodes. Other than that, I hope they keep it as close to the same as possible, just to provide us with a little escape.

This is a show that can ignore it if they want to. I suspect that you might hear some casual dialog about 'increased security', or 'reduced funding due to the recession & war effort', or maybe increased pressure to bring back weapons tech.

Other shows have it tougher. Think about West Wing, or Law and Order, or The Agency. L&O has this mega-5 parter planned about a terrorist attack in NYC. Scrapped, of course.

I don't think it will affect the show....or at least I hope it won't. They usually only mention the pentagon in passing. And occassionally someone will go there, but they don't have to show the outside if they think it will upset people. Who knows what they'll do. I view the show as an escape too, so I'd rather have no references to what happened. I don't even watch the news or read the paper anymore...it's just too depressing. My shows (especially the sci-fi ones) are my "Happy Place". I go there often. And, of course, this site is also a big escape and as we all know it is very addictive!

Happy Happy Place

Yeah, I agree with you about this being an escape. But, they mention the Pentagon so often in the show, I wonder just how they're going to handle it.

Is the US flag on their fatigues?

I think at the very least, if they decide not to mention the events in the storylines, they should at least all wear the US flag on the uniforms.

The flag may very well be there already. I honestly have not looked. If it is there, than some other subtle action like that would be nice to see.

Strange to think about, I know; but I kept thinking about Jack, and maybe Sam too, being pulled off the SGC program and being reassigned. Such as Jack in the Middle East and Sam at the Pentagon, or both at the Pentagon....although, can you imagine what being back in the Middle East would do to a man who had been a POW? I thought of all sorts of plot bunnies for fic, but just don't think I'm up to writing any of them

Oh well, I have an overactive imagination.
