I watched 'Chain of Command' tonight and asked myself what I would do if I was one of the Enterprises senior staff and Jellico would become my new commander.
He's arrogant, nobody likes him and he also likes nobody arround him. Nontheless it's fun to watch him treat Will and the others like first-semester cadets at the academy.

I wouldn't mind if he was my captain for few weeks, but some years? Those poor crew of the USS Cairo...

I would have been interesting if Jellico had been in command of the ship for the rest of the season

That was a good episode, "How many lights can you see?" and all that, but I never understood the point of that mission and why that team had to go:

Picard was some sort of Cardassian or theta wave expert, we never saw that revealed before or after, and other comandos must be more suited, Beverley isn't the only Doctor in Starfleet, and she is hardly an undercover operative.

But if they did go and Jellico did take over, why dis he need to change so much for so short a while? Why did Picard run such a sloppy ship -- The science I and II stations are wrongly positioned, Troi's uniform was not Standard? So why did she wear it -- just to attract Riker's attention. What has he got against goldfish?

He would have got into serious trouble with that attitude after a few weeks, and probably Starfleet would have removed him. To be a good leader you need to inspire confidence and motivate your subordinates.

I remember the first time it was shown... it was supposed to remind us ll that this kind of thing was going on now...
