This was on today's TvGuide in the Daily Telegraph

Stargate
(Thursday, Seven, 8:30pm)

A quick survey of this show (sure, it wasn't scientifically representative of the community, but our friends are many and varied) reveals that most viewers are puzzled as to why it is put on at 8:30pm. This show is for kids, or that not-so-rare form of species known as the Peter Pans. Which means it should be on at 4:30pm and so appease all those little ones who are forced kicking and screaming off to bed to have read to them just two pages of Harry Potter before the fairy comes along with its sleepy dust. And all things are just as fantastical with this show, only without the quality. True die hard sci fi fans agree. Proof is in fact that not one of them can name an actor from this series. Try that with Star Trek or Babylon 5.

Too Harsh!!!

Yes, I do agree, tis quite harsh....
KIDS SHOW!!!! Tisk, tisk, tisk....

Very harsh indeed, but then, what does the Telegraph know!!!

Gotta say, one good reason for arriving here in NZ (don't start on me, rather be in Oz) is that they are showing the current season of Stargate!

Carkedit:dead:

that report is fu*k*d .
Can someone please give me the contact details of the Telegraph newspaper, and im gonna call them and give them a peice of my mind.

and the one who reviewed stargate was Jenny Dillon

And Carkedit, i'd rather be in new zealand then here, wanna swap?

they sure are gonna get a peice of me on monday when i abuse the **** out of them :D :D :D :D :D

:angryfire :angryfire :angryfire

Thanks for bringing this to our attention steve. I'm gonna ring that woman and give her a piece of my mind as well. Wait till I get onto her, she's gonna get it. It's completely obvious that she has no idea what she is talking about.

PS. 'Proof is in fact that not one of them can name an actor from this series'
Name me one person who hasn't heard of Richard Dean Anderson?

its been a bitching week hasnit it for the aussie contingent? hehe

Between BOBW and Jenny Dillion it has been a bitching week. Oh well, we're entitled once in a while.

Im in the mood for bitching about something, bobw has got me in the mood, HA!! :D

I emailed the paper asking for contact number/em address for the woman but they haven't replyed yet.

here is the email i sent to the telegraph:

Hello,
I was reading your paper the other day and I came across a very unfair, untrue and offensive article about Channel Seven's Stargate SG-1. Who does the author of this article, Jenny Dillon, think she is? She obviously has absolutely no idea what she is talking about. My Family, Friends and I have followed Stargate since the show started, and we was very offended by the nature of this article with all the horrible things that Ms Dillon said.

UN-QUOTE.
Now this is not something that should go in a newspaper, it belongs in a rubbish bin.
Stargate is VERY popular, and Channel Seven programmers must think so as well by placing Stargate SG-1 in the Prime-time 8:30 timeslot.
So basically what I would like to find out from somebody is whether or not an apology is possible or could I contact Jenny Dillon to discuss this matter personally.
As simple as it is, my faith has been damaged towards your newspaper, and by not replying to this letter, I will stop purchasing your paper.
Thankyou,
J Dolega

P.S. I would like to know what true Die-hard Sci-Fi fans the writer interviewed.

I agree.....she obviously hasnt seen an episode of Stargate in her life.....
Hopefully you will get a reply, if not, keep on emailing them :)
