This was by far the crappiest thing Toei's done within Z. Yeh, it was all new animation, I know...but my major problem is with how they handled Goku. Let me say this right off the bat: No, I am not a Goku supporter. Yes, I did like seeing him get his ass kicked, and yes, I did want him to loose. Now that that's clear...

Fighting style
Almost all of Goku martial arts training was the traditional dashon, hand to hand. His entire childhood is spent perfecting this kind of skill and technique. Even when Goku learned the Kamehameha, he only used it as a last resort. This pattern of technique follows Goku all throughout his adulthood.
What did Toei do? They had Goku firing off ki bolts and beams like there was no tomorrow! In the course of that one battle he let off sporativ ki blasts in seemingly random directions at any given time! Goku would never do this, even if he was outnumbered/outclassed! That's somethingVegeta would do, not Goku.
Kamehameha
This move is always saved for when it is truely needed...usually towards the end of the fight. When it is used, Goku is always sure to put as much power into it as he can, to make sure it is as effective as possible.
What did Toei do? They drastically misused this move. They had Goku lead off with a Kamehameha, when he never ever does. They had him perform it 2 or 3 other times throughout the battle as well, when GOku never sporatically repeats the move. Most of all, never once does Goku fully charge the attack. Toei just has him point and shoot a weaker, not-too-charged version that can't do sh*t.
taking to the air
Anyone who has ever watched DB/Z knows that 98% of all Goku's training has taken place ON THE GROUND. He even chose to fight Freezer on the ground because that's where he would fight better.
What does Toei do? They have Goku get his ass kicked on the ground, but suddenly when they take to the air, he's matching Pikon move for move! Stupid!
...and another thing, Goku never once powers up after going SSJ. He simply transforms and fights at his SSJs base level! Goku was getting his ass handed to him, and when that happened in the actual series, Goku would have powered up as much as he could.
Plus the fact that Goku displayed absolutly no evasive technique what so ever. He stood there and watched Pikon charge up his attack and let it hit him 3 times!
...STUPID!
